advice on Orange PAYG price plans

Dear people who know about these sorts of things...

This is a query regarding changing mobile price plans.

Basically I set up a user account on the Orange website and checked my plan info and it told me that my plan was called 'Choose your own off-peak: Evening'.

This is the plan I had when I first got my Orange SIM back in 2000 or 2001 as I have always kept the old SIM with the original phone number.

Anyway comparing it with the current price plans like Racoon, the call and messaging costs seem high so I was thinking of changing it to that or one of the other Animal packages.

Only thing is is that back in 2000 or 2001 I signed up to this special offer called either Orange Out Here or Text Saver - I'm not sure which - whereby for a one-off fee of £15 I got £5 top-up and 5 free messages a day forever.

I don't want to lose this deal. So what I'm asking is, if I change from my current 'Choose Your Own Off-Peak: Evening' plan to one of the new plans i.e. 'Racoon', will I lose this special free texts deal or not?

As if by changing plans, I lose this special offer, then I would not want to change.

Anyone know or have any idea. Both the plan I am on and the special offer I have are very old and most people probably aren't familiar with them.

Thanks

If you move to any other plan you'll lose the 5 free texts, they're linked to the plan your on now. Once you move the new plan over rides anything on the old plan had on you acc.
That option is so old now that it's not even on the system any more. Also, when you change a plan it changes all the elements, you can't hang on to 'bits' from other plans the system doesn't all a 'mix and match' approach, sorry.

Bare in mind (if it matters) your sim is very old now, it won't have 3G and some data services might not run on it. So if you need those things in the future you'l have to change sims, which means losing your old plan as they won't/can't issue a new sim on an acc that old.
