Bra shopping!

Options
Hi!
There seems to be a correlation between bra sizes and their prices: the larger the bra, the larger the price?? Does anyone know a shop online or offline (anywhere?!) where this isn't the case. In other words, I want a cheap bra as I'm a student. I am looking for a 28 back size in particular, and a large cup size.
Thanks!

M&S charge the same price for bras, whatever the size, and they have some 28" bras that go up to a D cup

however a 28" bra, with anything above a B cup is going to be hard to find in cheap shops, so you may have to trawl alot of sites to see what they have in their sales

The problem with needing large cups sizes, is that the bras have more stuctural support built in, and this is what you are paying for

The problem with bra shopping is that you're going to have to shop around, because like clothes you can be different sizes depending where you shop.

Only yesterday did i got into M & S and couldn't find a thing. My cup size is G, i tried on 2 bras in the size i am, didn't fit right, then the lady suggested going up a back size, coming down a cup size, that didn't work either. I left with nothing.

Then went to another store today, tried on about 10 bras i think, some the size i am, others altering the back size and cup size etc. I left with 2 and those 2 bras cost me £45.

But i had to pay it, one bra was £24 and fit lovely, another bra in the same size but different make was only £18, but it didn't fit right, i even tried smaller and bigger back size and different cup size due it only being £18, no luck.

I wasn't going to leave with a bra for £18 just because it was cheaper than one at £24 that fit perfectly.

Yes i wasn't impressed at paying £45, but id rather find the money that be uncomfortable is one that doesn't fit.

No offence, but inputing measurements online doesn't work.

Just tried the website mentioned says i am - DD (with extra size up on the band size)

Just tried brasense.co.uk says i am - The bra size i am currently wearing

breasktalk.co.uk says i am - D (with extra size up on the band size)

Just toooooo confusing, rather go into a store and get measured.

my daughters have similar problems as OP but seem to do well at Le Senza -a good colour range and matching undies which they are very particular about!Have also got some in Debenhams when with them-not great range but maybe worth a look and all at same price.
:j this money saving is such fun:T

My daughter is a 28H. She was measured at Bravissimo, tried on the style she liked and I bought one for her from a seller on eBay. The shop price was either £26 or £28 (I forget which) and I got it BNWT for £14.99.

Just put in the search box what size you need and go down the list (there were several for sale when I got DD's)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I am FF (not 28 sadly) and I can't get on with M& S bras, I buy Freya from either Figleaves or a local independant shop (they have great sales). Freya do some lovely styles and they are really supportive for us well endowed ladies.

A friend of mine buys from the Big Bra Shop, although I have no personal experience of them.

It's vital, though, that you have a proper fitting first to determine the correct size. For years, I'd been wearing a 34C only to find out I'm a 36B!

  • I also wear freya or panache lily pricey but do last mine last 2 years
Unless you get fitted in independant shop and buy one then try on ebay for the rest.
Also used bravissimo before but usually go to local independant shop they are lovely

This is exactly why people should avoid M&S for bras!

although I look for Bra at different times at least once a year I go for a fitting, I have always used John Lewis, and they are really good, even if you don't think your size has changed you would be surprised. Although some of their bras can be expensive they do their own range in large cup sizes and they are quite good, I take a 32ff which is quite hard to find certainly never found them in M & S, I have also found large cup sizes in Debenhams (usually buy there during a sale as some of them are very reasonable). Its always worth keeping your eyes open in TKMaxx as well as they also have some larger sizes but more hit and miss
