I really like the la redoute site..but one question...im dead on a size 16 in top so 14-16 would be too small 18-20 too large- do the clothes come up small? What size would be best from experience please ?

I have found Redoute to be on the large side of things. I am of similar shape to yourself and I have some tops I ordered in 18 - 20 and they swim on me.

Remember though, that the catalogue sells loads of different brands and traditionally french clothes come up a little smaller, or that is what my friends all told me and I found that with their baby clothes

I buy Weekenders clothing - it goes from size 8 to 30 (and the sizes are generous). I am not a big lady but find the cut of High Street clothing wrong for my body shape.

It is a lovely soft flexible material, easy to wash/dry and doesn't need ironing either, tho' you can give it a light pressing if you wish.

I also have a small baby ( and a grumpy 7 year old, but we wont go into that) so clothes shopping is a right pain. I found a site called underfivepounds.co.uk that sells some nice stuff. I thought it might be cheap and nasty, but it's ok, got loads of stuff for £20, including delivery!

I like Peacocks. Its even better as our Peacocks is part of the Somerfield supermarket so I can pop a few things in the trolley as I'm going round.

Im not a mum, but im busy, and I get most of my clothes from next, occasionally ebay too. Very occasionally I might pop into Gap on my lunch hour. I cant stand actually going shopping, unless its for house stuff in a place I know isnt too busy! I get too easily annoyed with the teenagers loitering around and the queue's for the changing rooms....

I know what you mean Bubbles - I am working full time and have a two year old and an 8 month old. The internet has saved me! (Except for bloody Sainsburys online groceries which is another story...) I have just finished summer clothes shopping - for the kids I used Next (although I thought a lot of their girl stuff was just too grown up for a young girl - not really appropriate in some cases) and Vertbaudet (but they have shocking customer service and you need to watch that they actually honour their offers), plus Mothercare.

For me I used Boden, but it is pretty pricey, I just used it to get a couple of tops - you can usually get a discount of 10%. Their stuff does last well though - I am still wearing things I bought three years ago from them which is more than can be said for some of my Next purchases.

I also second what an earlier poster said about John Lewis personal shoppers - I have only used them once to source an item which was out of stock on the web site. Very professional and so polite! So might be worth a go if you can manage it.

I spent just £90 in the end on a couple of things and wasn't made to feel guilty just buying a few items, I had spent over 2 hours with the personal shopper and had freebie drinks and a whole suite to myself.

I would recommend it any time.

Thanks. That's just dispelled a myth I had that people who used personal shoppers spent 100's of pounds :)
