    Morning all! :D

I continued my PADing over the weekend as promised - £4 on Saturday and £4 on Sunday to the CC's - today has been slightly bigger, I've moved my loan repayment date forward so i've paid my usual £4 to the CC's and £505.62 to the loan - so total of £509.62 today!

    Hi Matt - Nice PAD:T
Keep up the good work :)

Ahhh, lovely. The bills from the dentist has just arrived (I have to pay and then claim back from insurance)...........€547.40!!

Nice! I can pay the first invoice this month ((€120.60) and claim it back), just about. But the second will have to wait until next month. Even so, I will only get a maximum total of €250 back, so that means I'll still be around €300 out of pocket next month :(

I could get the bank to give me a small overdraft, and I would only pay a small amount of interest (no fees! I didn't even get charged a fee for accidentally going overdrawn a few months back!), but I'm scared that it would be too much temptation for me.

On the otherhand, it would allow me to create a budget for paying it back that is more realistic and remove the tempation to spend on the CC if things get too tight.

I need to check the interest rate on the overdraft facility here, but still not sure what to do for the best.

    Hey Euro!
I'd say if you can try to manage without an overdraft - do.
It's too tempting once it's there. Just say NO ;)
That's my next mission - to pay mine off - this month I've been tripped up by a hefty car repair bill:mad: But after that's paid, I'm focusing on the O/D

Yeah, I know, but it seems one of the only ever feasible solutions is to ask my OH to help me out......again! I just hate it. I haven't had one month since I moved here, where I didn't need to rely him financially at least a little bit!

Anyway, I checked the bank package I have, and an OD was an optional extra. I called them, asked them, they asked me questions and then they said no. Because....I've only been here 7 months (I knew that might be an issue - but if they're going to say no based on that, then they should no straight away and not waste my time) and also because they considered the rent as my full responsibility, rather than just half. I tried to explain that OH and I split 50/50 but it fell on deaf ears.

Oh well. I've paid the first smaller one and will now claim that back.

I will speak to the OH tonight about the rest and the dentist too to see if I can work out a payment plan with them. We'll see.

  • 56p in small change to various tins . . . Just booked the train tickets . . . Give me cashback or give me death LOL

I remember the year I went to Reading (1996) went to give moral support to a friend who had just split up with one of the other folks going and to see one band & one band only - turned up & found out the ruddy band had cancelled . . . LOL

The only other festival since then has been All Tomorrows Parties in 2002 but that's staying in a holiday camp so it doesn't really count as a festival proper.

I have gone the VIP camping route for End Of The Road though - worked out cheaper as I own nowt but a cheap & nasty sleeping bag and that VIP treatment gets us an airbed, pre-pitched 3 man tent & a double sleeping bag which we just roll up to on the first day and run away from on the last with no fuss and bother. And by the time I had bought a decent tent etc which may never be used again it seemed the sensible option.

May be off to Cochella in California neaxt year if this one goes well - take a festival & stick it in the Mojave Desert - sweet !
