Well angelic, thats just it! I make him sandwiches every bloody day! Some days I swear he 'forgets' them on purpose so he can buy something more tasty, I know sandwiches are a bit boring for every day but they don't have a microwave or any facilities like that, so it's sarnies or the canteen.. but come on, millions of other people cope with it and it's not like has to eat them for dinner as well! Men! LOL I am on one today!

I don't think it's a very manly thing to do (take a packed lunch) so maybe he just feels a bit less blokey!

My OH is quite funny when it comes to sandwiches...he'll only eat ham  so that what he takes everyday!

Maybe you could try asking him what he'd like to take to work with him to see if that makes a difference?

    xx

I read in one of your posts that you don't want to seem to bossy over money as your 'just' boy/girlfriend but you're a couple and what's his is yours and what's yours is also yours :D so I wouldn't be too bothered by seeming bossy...you can be the bossy missus when it comes to keeping the pennies but the cool girlfriend that doesn't complain when he goes for a night out with his mates :rotfl:

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. I used to make OH packed lunches all the time to take to work with him, he used to come home from work with the lunch looking like it had barely been touched. He eventually admitted about 3 months later that he didnt even take the lunch out his bag coz he didnt want his other male workmates laughing at him

Hes a chef so luckily gets pretty big discounts on any food he buys at work so i just let him buy his lunch now. Ends up about £4 a day, but he doesnt moan about being embarrassed now. Strange thing that he is!!

I used to work in kitchen as a commis chef and we used to just help ourselves to lunch or dinner (depending on what time of the day we were working or both if we were doing the dreaded 12hour shifts!) but I guess that your OH isn't allowed to do that?

Why did he take it home? Surely he wouldn't want you to know that he wasn't eating it? I suppose it was the honest thing to do though but he could have at least told you he thought he would get laughed at so you didn't waste your time!

...and men think we're complicated

Thing you have to remember if the car is fixed at £500 and on the road for the next year then thats cheaper than buying another new/second hand car.

That is defo what I'm hoping for.
Even if it will go another 6-12 months I'll be happy. I've never had to spend serious money on it, so to do so once for another year will be ok.
It's only just passed the MOT too, so I need to keep it on the road.
But if it is beyond repair, I just had to face the fact I might need to buy another......

Like I said, if I didn't have the debt the size of a flash car in the first place.....
Well, I'd have the flash car to show for it at least
