Probably a stupid question...

My daughter has an iphone on 18 month contract which ends at the end of next month. It has been in my name as she was under 18. She wants to upgrade to 3GS when it ends and, as she becomes 18 in a couple of weeks, we wish the contract to now be in her name and the charges to come from her account. How do we go about this ? Will this now cost more to upgrade ? Any advice please from you knowledgeable people as I know nothing about mobile phones !

All you need to do is phone up and cancel your contract and your daughter then takes out her own contract, there's no need to transfer names etc unless they say this will give you a better deal.

Remember and use quidco or similar site to get cashback on the new contract !

    Thanks.
Not sure about the upgrading part though. I don't know how she will move to the 3Gs this way.

A supplementary question though as you mentioned Quidco.

Her twin ( with no iphone) has a vodafone sim only £15 a month 30 day contract - also in my name and we wish to now stop that and start a new one off in her name. How do we stop it ? Do I need to go into the shop ?( I have spent ages trying to find my bill account details on the online billing site hoping I could cancel there and have given up !). Assuming we get cancelled can we start the next £15 sim only one via Quidco and get cashback ? Is this a rolling contract ? How quick is the setting up of a new sim only contract this way ( we went into the shop to do the last one) ? She wont be keen on being without her phone !

Sorry for all the questions - I said I don't really understand about mobile phones and all the contracts.

Most networks with do an account transfer, just call them up and tell them what you want to do.

As long as the other person can clear a credit check they'll have no problem moving the acc into their name.
