Morning everyone :hello:
Hope you have a great time away Ruby xxx
Hope that Thunder makes his way home soon Marie. xxx
Hope OH is better soon Aussie. xxx
Have a great time Sistercas. xxx
Welcome to any newbies I have missed :hello:
Quiet morning here so far. OH is having a lie in and the girls are playing quietly upstairs. I've emptied the DW and fed the birds and made a pot of coffee but that's about it. It's sunny in between the showers so I may take the girls and the dog to a nearby lake to feed the ducks and I need to get to Lidl to buy some fruit.
If the rain gets heavier we will have a DVD day and be lazy as I prepped all the HG veggies yesterday for tonight so just need to bung the pork in the oven later. Not having breakfast as we will do a full Scottish/Irish brunch when OH surfaces.
Brownies starts tomorrow night and to my shame there are still badges to be sown on from Juneso that is also on the list.
Have good days everyone.

Morning all,
redruby, the cottage sounds lovely...enjoy your holiday.
meanmarie, I hope Thunder comes home soon.
halight, glad you and your wife are feeling better.
We got back from Tenerife yesterday. It was a fabulous holiday with lots of fun, sun and good food and I feel more relaxed than I have in a very long time. Mr Pink's parents were staying there at the same time so it was good to see them and great for the children to spend some time with their Grandparents who they don't see often because they live in London. There wasn't much in the way of Old Style...I thought I'd cook more but it was cheaper to eat out than cook so we did almost every night, and there was a maid service who changed the beds and cleaned the apartment from top to bottom every day. I felt thoroughly spoiled as our recent holidays have been a mobile home in France where I am housekeeper, chief cook and bottle washer all rolled into one.
Unfortunately it's back to earth with a bump weather wise....it's pouring here and the forecast is for more of the same all day. Thankfully there was a washing machine and tumble dryer in our apartment so I got all the washing done and dried before we came home so only unpacking and putting away to do today. Also need to wade through the jungle that the garden has become...lots of broad beans and tomatoes to pick and after a quick look I think all the plants have survived. Not quite sure what to do for dinner but a 'roast' would suit the weather so I'll have a look in the freezer to see what I have.
Off to read over what's been happening. Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Good morning. There has been very little os in this house as ds is still getting up at 5am, and despite going to bed earlier, I don't always sleep, so I'm tired now. Only 2 weeks to go until he starts school - hopefully that will help.
I'm having a housework day today. I have changed some of the water in the fish tank, the washing is dry and just needs to be ironed, and I've been to Asda to buy the pizza that my SIL has requested for her dinner tomorrow. believe me there was no point trying to make it, and at least she's settled for Asda this time. She lives in far North Wales and usually asks to have a pizza delivered as a treat. There aren't any deliveries where she lives.
I'm just about to strip my bed and put clean bedding on ready for SIL. I will be sleeping on the futon in ds's room. I can't expect visitors to be getting up at 5am, so I get the bed on the floor.
Pink I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday, marie I hope the kitty is home and halight fingers crossed the twins don't get the bug.
Take care all of you0 -
Morning all:wave:
Isn't anyone else following the cricket? It's fantastic stuff. I wish we had Sky so I could watch and listen at the same time.
Good to see you back Pink, sounds like a relaxing holiday. I thought there was a distinct lack of board guides around last week. Hope we haven't made too much mess with out you:rotfl:
My lot have just gone swimming, I'm trying to decide what to make for lunch. There are no eggs, no bacon and no cheese- looks like it'll be beans on toast, there's a little pot of beans leftover from Friday, so yes, probably definitely beans for lunch:D Or I might make some soup:think:
Supper is braised lentils, duck and sausages. Continental lentils briased in duck stock with half a pound of chipolatas (one each), some shreds of leftover duck and some carrots. Potatoes fried in the duck fat:drool:
A bit of leftover blackberry and apple cobbler or damson yogurt for pud.

Good afternoon everyone! It's a grey day here and threatening rain. Fortunately I finished up the laundry yesterday and just a few things to iron. Yesterday was gorgeous here. DH and I took the pup to the park for playing fetch and exploring. She came back ready for a good nap. We then headed into town and just walked around and browsed some of the shops. It was a lovely day for us.
Today I'm doing a general tidy up and not much more, than the above mentioned ironing. I may run the hoover if I get inspired enough.Tea tonight will be something. Just not sure what yet. :rotfl:
Hope those who are feeling poorly are better very soon. ((((((((GentleHugs)))))))))) to all who want/need one.
Peyton xxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

Gosh its quiet on here today. I hope people are out making the most of the sunshine if they are lucky enough to have it.
Halight - Glad you're feeling better now, fingers crossed the twins don't catch it!
Pink - your holiday sounds fab, and a real rest as well. Lucky you!
Haribo - I've got scouts badges for my 2 to sew on that have been lurking even longer than June. Really ought to sew them, plus name tags in new (expensive) school blazer, but I just can't be bothered!
Kids stayed at grandparents last night and went Blackberry picking, then went to a lake and had a walk and play in the park, so they had a great time. I enjoyed my Indian meal out, was very yummy.
Plans for today - zilch! :rolleyes:0 -
:hello: Goodness, what a short thread for 3.15 in the afternoon!
halight - Glad to see you safely back, but sorry you and mrs halight have been poorly. Fingers x'd for you that the twins don't catch it!
Pink-Winged - Welcome back! Glad you've had a good rest and relax. I think we've been fairly well-behaved while you and Penelope Penguin have been away
Marie - So sorry to hear about Thunder, I do hope he'll turn up ((HUGS)) You'd think he could find his way home if Sile could, but I suppose it depends whether they were together. One of mine disappeared when he was a kitten, and I was so upset, then he came back 5 days later, a bit thin but fine otherwise.
Peyton - Glad you had a lovely day yesterday! Are the flats all finished now?
Molly41 - Glad you feel better today and that your DS's ticket turned up safely at last!
thriftlady - I was going to ask whether duck stock isn't terribly fatty, but of course you'd skim the fat off anyway  Blackberry and apple cobbler sounds yummy! I haven't had many blackberries this year, the snails and spiders got to most of them before i did _pale_
Haven't been doing much today except washing - and changed the bedding It's rather hot here this afternoon so I'm trying to stay in the shadebut at least the washing's getting dry quickly :j

Grey and dull here today, with the odd shower.Just come back from blackberrying, got about 2lbs,but they don't seem too great here this year.We are having crispy duck for tea,but I haven't been able to get any little pancakes for love nor money! Our v big T said theyve not had them for ages, and Sainsburys just said they dont sell them
Seems very quiet here with both DSons at the V festival-I seem to have more time to myself, and DH and I are eating whatever we feel like, without having to tailor the menu to DS2s allergies.Last night I made the spiced chicken and biryani from Econ Gastronomy, the rice tasted a bit watery-I probably put a bit much in.You're supposed to put your finger on top of the rice and pour water in till it reaches the first joint, but mine moved as I poured(the rice not my finger :rotfl:)so I prob sloshed a bit too much in.Enjoyed it though.I got the book from Tesco yesterday for £10 (rrp £20) so thanks for the heads up on who mentioned that, may have been Thriftlady.
Hugs to anyone who is poorly, and hope twins are ok,Halight-that would be double trouble if they got it.
MM-hope Thunder is ok.
N9eav-good news about the torties.I read the original news report last week, and felt so sorry about Zeus,so it was great to read your post.

Afternoon all:j
Just had to come in from the heat for a mo:j - sorry to all those who have rain, but here in Essex it is hot, hot, hot.
Managed to get all my ironing done whilst listening to the Archers - a regular Sunday chore (the ironing, not the Archers!):D
Picked some sun-warmed tomatoes - they didn't make it to the kitchen:rolleyes:
Still have'nt done anything with the damsons except buy the sugar for the gin/vodka. Must do that tomorrow or will be overun with fruit flies!
Will just throw some pasta together this evening - only me for dinner. Kids are not back from France until next Saturday. DD goes off with her best friend to Devon for a few days the same day she gets back - she has been warned that travelling in a car from the South of France to Devon, via Essex, in 24 hours will be hard going:eek:
Am hoping for good news from the estate agent/solicitor tomrrow - please keep all fingers crossed for a moving date!
Enjoy your evening - if you are having 'cold weather' meals I am actually quite envious!

Afternoon all
I'm late posting today, DS has dropped his washing over, 1st load is on the line, 2nd in the machine, 3rd waiting to go in.
Neighbours opposite went out today & left their little boy behind in the garden, they were only gone half an hour, but he can't be more than 4, I was afraid to leave the kitchen & sat in the window watching til they came home.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
