Blackpool pleasure beach - £5 to walk around!?

I know the option to ride IS there...but how many disabled people/carers/over 60s do you see on the rides?
not really the point though, you are actually getting something for your money at Alton Towers. The more sedate rides do attract disabled and carers, even if its just a half hour boat ride on the lake. Added to that, there are the Gardens in Alton Towers to enjoy.
What are you getting for your fiver at Blackpool? The option to walk around a theme park, with little to no scenery etc and not go on any rides whatsoever.0 -
But you do get something for your fiver -
Buy a Pleasure Beach Pass for only £5 per person Entitles you to enjoy the ambience of the park, ride on the Pleasure Beach Express, Chinese Puzzle Maze, South Beach Show and our new Spectacular Dancing Water Show.
Top up a Pleasure Beach Pass with ride tickets for individual rides or you can upgrade your Pass to a wristband, once on the park.
Children under 2 FREE
As I said earlier up the thread for a £5 pass you can go to shows. The above is copied from the pleasure Beach website.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I guess the £5 is a good idea to stop the chavs, not been to Blackpool for a few years, my 2 kids would love to see the lights but the stag and hen doos really put me off , dont want my kids to see drunks chucking up everywhere and being tied to lamp posts, i think Blackpool has a real image problem lately.0

It's bloody barmy, just another way to NOT attract visitors............Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

My memories of Blackpool are running to the pier, taking in the aroma of the brown sea air - and promptly turning tail back home, to gain that smell I just need to remember NOT to flush
The pleasure beach, in NO way, is worthy of £5 for wandering around the timbers looking at mile upon mile of queuing people scrabbling to get their moneysworth from an extortionate armband.
Busch Gardens and Universal Studio's, only cost me $8 (about £4) for a day pass, $20 for a combined pass for 3 venues and you didn't need an armband as an optional extra.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

£5 to walk round the Pleasure Beach
cheapest admission to Alton Towers is for a disabled person/carer and that's £18.50 on the day or £14.80 on-line
Drayton Manor's cheapest is £12 for 60yrs+
Pleasure Beach is beginning to look like a real bargain!
They're both theme parks though, not a seaside fun fair.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Granted BUT Pleasure Beach is a bit of both - I wouldn't describe it a wholly a seaside fun fair anymore. Like Alton Towers et al it has the huge (ie big investment) rides now.
I might take Marleyboy's comment on board and nip over to Busch Gardens - well I might if I had a few hundred for plane tickets LOLDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

We have just been to Blackpool this weekend.
I got Pleasure Beach tickets online for £20 each (£80 for me, OH, DS and DD) - we went in at 10am and left at 8pm - we have a brilliant day and I thought it was really good value for money (better than the tower at £44 for the 4 of us anyhow!) - even the food and drink in the pleasure beach was not too expensive..
What I did have a problem with though was the 'hotel' we stayed in! the room was tiny and I am covered in bites!0 -

On the flip-side, you don't need to purchase a transatlantic flight to get to Blackpool.
Swings and roundabouts, I suppose.....Oh come on, don't be silly.
It's the internet - it's not real!0
