Blackpool pleasure beach - £5 to walk around!?

£5 just to walk around inside  How is someone walking around with mates/kids/etc who isn't going on the rides costing them £5?? There's no possible way to get on the rides without your wristband or tickets, so it's not like these people can sneak on.

Blackpool was good 15 yrs ago, OK 10 yrs ago, and now its a steaming sh1thole.

The pleasurebeach can k1ss my arris before I pay £5. Greed will kill it dead!!
  • Agreed, Blackpool is 10-15 yrs OOD. Remember marvelling at the illuminations? Now every toy lights up and sings and dances better than any Blackpool streetlight!
  • Anyone seen that Blackpool 1:30 min film J'aime La Tour , first saw I thought that was Paris, with alll the landmarks and cuisine...

Very nice promotional video, show the charming side of backpool.

yeah its not a bit like that...

blackpool nightlife is pretty seedy imo

still cheaper than Alton Towers where you pay full price not to ride! And you don't have to pay to park at Blackpool...

I had to pay full price to get into Flamingo Land, even though I didn't go on any rides as I'd just had a baby. My husband and sons went on all the rides, while I plonked myself on various benches with the baby.
Here I go again on my own....

and out of interest Wristbands are normally (ie on the gate) £30. I bought mine on line for three teenagers (went a couple of weeks back) and paid £20 each. They got on STACKS of BIG rides, - they rode Bling 5 times Ice blast twice, Big One, Big Dipper, Grand National, Steeplechase and others and rode well over 10 rides so at less than £2 a ride I thought it good value especially compared to travelling fair rides...
and for my £5 I got to ride on the Pleasure Beach Express :rotfl: I could have gone into shows if I wanted and let them roam free!

    Hi
I think they've started charging to walk around to stop groups of teenagers hanging around. I live close by and when they decided to start charging there was uproar, but it has stopped alot of anti social behaviour as kids aren't going to pay 5.00 to hang around!

ah - well teenagers aren't going to be able to hang around places like Alton Towers - there just isn't the passing trade - but the Pleasure Beach is different. Now you mention it there weren't any 'hangers around'. Thanks for that!

Agree with janninew, it has stopped a lot of antisocial behaviour within the park and it is also significantly cheaper than theme parks where you have to pay full price to even go in and walk round.
