Broadband recommendation please...

At present I have wanadoo broadband, but it's up the creek again. Apparently they have frequuent 'outage' problems and some areas are unable to connect. I am on dial-up at this moment, and it's taking me over one minute to load a MSE page.
I have been with wanadoo bb for over a year but lately these small glitches have rattled me, because I depend on reliable bb so much for my work.
Sooooooo... who is totally happy with their ISP, and can recommend it to me?
Thanks!

I am with the above and have had no problems at all with them. When I have needed any help with the initial setup etc I got through straight away and they helped me with set up. I know they have had some bad press on some forums but I have had no problems at all.

I'm with Euro1net and had no problems so far. You have to pay up front though and a lot of people dont like this, but I prefer it as I dont have to make sure there's enough money in my account each month for direct debits

1mb connection is currently £10 a month with their offer to upgade from 512mb, you get a free month if you dont need a modem, and just looking at the site they are giving away an extra 3 months if you sign up for 2 years.
So if you can get both offers and not have a modem you could get 28 months worth of 1mb broadband for £240 thats £8.57 a month. Sounds worth it if you can pay upfront.

I have been with Pipex from October last year (which meant I missed out on some of their offers .. darn). I don't need massive bandwidth so their 1Gb package was suitable. I chose them because they also give you 500 minutes of free phone calls each month. I have yet to have any problems with them.
Can I also add a big thank you to those on this board that helped me choose Pipex and especially Edinburghlass who helped with sorting out phone deals etc.

I thoroughly recommend Freedom to Surf (https://www.f2s.com). They currently offer up to 8Mbit connection for £13.99 per month. You can have a 12 month contract (with modem etc thrown in) or just a monthly contract, which allows more flexibility.
I signed up for the monthly contract last June and bought my own modem and paid for the connection, but I've had no reason to go elsewhere as the service is so good - might as well have signed for 12 months and saved connection/modem fees etc! Although the peace of mind of flexibility/no long-term commitment is priceless."He who asks questions cannot avoid the answers"0 -
It sounds like I'm on the same product as Ivan, Pipex Start. 1GB use is plenty for me, using Onspeed compression as well. Their customer services can have a queue, but you can call them out of the free calls included. These were part of the attraction, and I use other cheap calls providers for int'l and 0870 numbers etc. With the 2nd and 3rd months free it's £150 for a year.0

I'm on Newnet up to 8meg for 12.50ish with 2gig allowance, I usually have to pay a bit more for any extra usage. Bearing in mind I'm over 3.5km from the exchange I'm getting between 3.5 and 5.25 meg, depentdent on the time of day. Very good value, c/s whilst an 0870 number is good and helpful.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
