After a dull-as-dishwater day yesterday (we did a jigsaw puzzle that we bought at car boot sale last year for God's sake.....!), OH and I decided to make use of the bank hols. OH played a game of tennis with his mate (free) and I went for a walk with dog (um, also free!).

As the 0% deal on OH's virgin credit card (9k balance) had ended this month, he had to move this onto another deal. Sadly couldn't transfer to any existing cards, so (after checking this site), saw Abbey were offering 0% for 13 months with 3% fee, OH promptly applied over phone and was accepted. Relief! HOPEFULLY he gets a big credit limit to move this whopping 9k debt over.... Fingers crossed...

Went for another lovely walk - for an hour - with poochie and OH. Imagined pounds melting away and legs getting more toned with each step... :p

After walk, went to the cinema (The Ugly Truth - v funny some laugh out loud moments). Spent 20 pounds on tickets and drinks. The cinema's not cheap, is it???!

Smuggled in snacks from supermarket (how rebellious, huh!) ...and picked up some beans, fruit (OH gorges on fruit - it's not normal, I swear!), sandwich stuff for next week (more food shopping - bad planning - must NOT fail grocery challenge on first month!) - 10 quid.

'Needed' a new bronzer so bought this too. Old one had totally crumbled away - 10 quid.

    Total spend = 40 pounds

All in all, a thoroughly lovely day - did exercise, drank water, nil booze.

Hope everyone's enjoyed their bank hol Monday x

    Aims for today:

    - NSD (signed up challenge to motivate me to not spend!)
    - Continue with healthy habits
    - Refrain from going on about us going over budgets/huge debts etc. to OH as he is starting to get annoyed - aargh! as much as I think he nees a kick up the a*se, I need to keep him on side.

  • Hi Catzpaws, I know how you feel about the booze! I drunk far too much this weekend and my stomach and purse are regretting it! Good luck with the healthy challenge :)

Thanks vodkabarbie... for me personally, bank holidays used to be all about the boozing and partying   but I need a break from that really... so, this is a brand, spanking new CP that likes drinking water during the week :A :p

It's hard to temper that enthusiasm, isn't it? He thinks I'm totally obsessed now. He used to think I was strange lurking ("Why don't you just write something!"). Ha! Anyway, have decided now to be a bit more selective about what I speak about rather than just saying everything that's on my mind. I guess that is what the diary is for... an outlet for my outpourings to keep me sane!

Been a good day! Did my healthy habits (no booze, 8 glasses of water, healthy food and 5k jog). And! It's been a NSD.... Yipeee!

On the down side, work has been deathly dull today. I swing between the extremes of loving work and being bored of it. Couldn't help relogging onto MSE (tut!) throughout the day to check stuff out. Hardly going to shimmy up the career ladder to megabucks this way, am I?

Tesco Clubcard Plus cards arrived in post today. I'd applied for an account when I was fantasising about using it to pay for a trip to New York next year... But, cards now seem far less attractive now that Tesco have introduced double points on their new promo... and there's def insufficient deals to take me to NYC without spending substantial amounts of cash! Ah well...

Sadly, no NSD today as will have to shell out on the following:
    - Dog minding services for month - £210
    - Cat food – £35 through Pet Planet (with 5% cashback thru Quidco)
    - Dog training - £5
    Total: £250
    Good thing I love them!
Going to try and not spend anymore though as really determined to stay on track!
Carrying on with the healthy habits (glass of water, anyone?).
Dinner tonight will be chicken and spinach pasta for OH and spinach omelette for me - all ingredients that we have in so should have no reason to pop to shop...
