Dear all
I cancelled my contract with orange in June, they had told me that I was able to pay the penalty fee in instalments. now they are telling me that if I don't pay the lump sum £340 they will disconnect my mobile broadband until I pay the whole penalty. They explained that they will be doing that because my mobile broadband was linked with my phone, the mobile broadband it is going to be disconnected until the debt is cleared. They also told me that this is going to be in my credit report. i thought that if I arranged a convenient monthly payment, there was not going to be a report in my credit file.
Shall I pay everything now? I believe that if I spend 5 months paying £340 my credit file will show that I am missing 5 payments to Orange.
Maybe you can give me a little bit of advice
Thank you very much
Omar
PD: they have not disconnected my mobile broadband yet (they said that it was going to be disconnected on 20th of August)

If you can, pay it now.
Preserving your good credit record will be worth the inconvenience.0 -
Ring the people up and talk to them calmly and politely, nothing makes things worse than non-communication, they would prefer to sort it out amicably as much as you would and can probably come to an amicable arrangement with you as well as explain the options available, it's nothing lost.
Whatever arrangement you come to, make sure you get written confirmation and if you write to them, send it recorded delivery from the Post Office for around a quid then you've got proof you tried to sort it out.0
