unresponsive script

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone could help me please.

I have an acer aspire one netbook running on Linux. Lately I keep getting a pop up saying unreponsive script " A script on this page may be busy .............." It's happening all the time now & so annoying!! I've noticed it happens more often on Twitter?

Please bear in my mind I'm hopeless with anything technical but is there anything I can do to stop this?

it's a problem between the web-page and your browser. Try updating your browser version as a first step.

I is thick, where do I go to update my browser? I'm not even sure what version of firefox I'm on :O

Thanks for your replies, but when I click on help-check for updates the check for updates is faded and I can't click on it.

are you logged in as "root"? what Linux version are you running?

How do I log in as Root?

Don't know Linux, but google says do it like this.

You're running Firefox 2 on a netbook running a customised version of Linpus. It's difficult to update certain applications (like Firefox) in such an environment because you only have access to versions that Acer themselves supply.
