I left neutral feedback & seller not happy!

Hi,

I wonder if you could give me some advice please?

I've been using Ebay for many years as a seller and buyer and luckily have 100% positive feedback still. I've never had any problems with orders, feedback etc so im a bit stuck about this

I bought some beads from a seller i had used before (although that order was wrong, it was quickly changed and i left positive not mentioning the problems) and this order again was wrong!
I emailed her to tell her the item was incorrect and could i have a refund. She said if i returned them she would refund. I sent the beads back the day after this message on the Wednesday.

I waited over a week and hadnt had any message from her to say they had arrived or a refund was being issued. She replied that a refunded was being arranged.

I waited another week with still no result of a reund so i emailed saying that i hadnt been refunded yet and very coinsidently a refund was in my account the next day.

I've never left neutral or negative feedback before but i thought i should leave a neutral due to an incorrect order and waiting 3 weeks to have it all sorted out. (she has about 20 odd neg and neutral in the last month due to wrong orders)

I got a message from her saying it took me 3 weeks to return the beads, which is rubbish as i posted them the day afer her message on the Wed (not my fault RM might have taken so long to deliver)
She said she had contacted me but i never had any messages from her. She also said that she was sending me a replacement which i never asked for or knew about. She asked if i would change the feedback if the replacements turned up.

Sorry for such a long message! Just wanted to explain everything correctly.:D

I thought i was doing the right thing by stating my experience with the seller. I only said that incorrect item was sent and took 3 weeks to sort out but refund given. I could have left a negative but i didnt.

Thanks

I would ignore her, to be honest. I think you have been more than fair.

I agree you have bene more than fair.

Just make sure you don't buy and sell on the same account though just in case she is daft enough to try something silly.

    Thanks for your reply.

What do you mean? Should i set up another account to sell? (can you do that)
I've always used my account to do both.

Buying and selling on the same account is not a good idea.

Use your existing account as a seller account as you already have feedback and open a brand new account to use purely as a buying account in future. However that still gives you the problem here that you have an annoyed seller who can see you use your account as a seller yourself and may be daft enough to try and teach you a lesson about feedback. It isn't common really, most people are fairer than that but it never pays to take risks.

Ok, thanks i never even thought of that!:o

If i use my current account to sell then doesnt that mean if something goes wrong like this then it would effect my feedback? Thanks

A purely buying account can only ever have positive feedback. A selling account can pick up neutrals/negs and poor stars.

Feedback is meant to show your experience as a buyer. I personally think there are not enough Neutrals left and I say that as a seller. There is too much horsetrading when Feedback is involved so frequently feedback is not really accurate as everyone is afraid of upsetting some one else

Me too, but only cause she messed up two seperate orders, then took 3 weeks to refund.

If she does feedback reversion change it to a neg!lol

I agree you should have a seperate selling/buying account - i now do, Ive also just started a third account to sell items that are all going on at 99p :)

Will seperate acounts do you have to use different email addresses and credit cards etc?

I'm still a bit confused by using different accounts. Someone else explained above but im comfused :o

As i have 100% positive would i use this account to buy only as i cant get neg that way? Then open another just to sell?
Or is it the other way round - use my 100% to sell as i have the feedback but if anything went wrong then that would effect my feedback?

    Thanks

Feedback as a buyer is completely meaningless, it matters not whether you have 1 feedback or 1000. AS a seller though feedback is more imprtant, so always use the existing account as a selling account.
