I always cook my rhurbarb with a cooking apple and sugar. It takes a lot of the sharpness off it.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0

if you dont want to be adding too much sugar add a very little bicarbonate of soda, just the tip of a teaspoon, takes the acidity out of it0

What great timing! - I bought two crowns yesterday and am trying to decide the best place to put them. My dad puts an old pedal bin over his to force them on, but not sure if this is a good idea?
I normally add loads of fresh ginger with a tablespoon of sugar. I quite like the tartness with the ginger it's really yummy. OH adds loads more sugar as he likes his really sweet. DD's wil eat it any how and I've caught even DD2 nibbling on the end of it raw. Yuck!LMB 01/03/08£9001.61 £10/6 6089.70 - 32%paid off!

just found this post after months, sorry, just add your used vanilla pod to a jar of caster sugar and leave for a few weeks until the flavour infuses, or you can buy it, but its pricey, i think it is anyway saying as you can do it yourself0
