I think the success of this would depend on the type of business or service you offer. Let us know and we can give more feedback.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. In latter part of career specialising in commercial - mostly business sales.0

No. I can't imagine anything more dreadful than breakfast with business owners discussing business.0

I've been to a couple as I thought it might be a good idea and would meet new contacts... but its the same people each time, and very cliquie (dunno how you spell it) seems more of a jolly than actual business. When they asked me to join, I was amazed at the price... I think the business to be in is running the event... Not for me for the price they are chargingBeer meter E[.\.......]F0

No,
Its expensive, pointless and usually just someones idea of a way to make a quick buck.
Also in my experience everyone there is trying to SELL something, never yet met a buyer at this sort of event!==============================================You can use your money to save timeorYou can use your time to save money0 -
That's the thing with networking events - the same boring people go repeatedly. I can think of better things to do with my breakfast than spend the whole of it discussing the cost of widgets.0

...and some of them start at 7.00a.m!!! NOT a good time to begin working!Blagged: free samples of handwash from Molton Brown; booklet of walks from Brecon Carreg;
Free Diabetes monitor, free bee-friendly seeds, a MINI coin and a splash-proof book from Radox.:T0 -
Ive thought of these, but I think there a rip off to. If I want more business I walk into that company and ask for the organ grinder.Kind Regards

I keep being sent invitations to these kind of things but a lot of them seem quite expensive and I'm not sure how worthwile they'd be for my business. I've tended to do the majority of my networking online so far but I suppose it would be nice to leave the house a bit more often!0

Join your local chamber of commerce - you can get to go to their networking events which are often free or at limited cost, I usually go to my local chamber's Women Who...lunches which are fab (yes, despite my MSE name I am female:rotfl:). The last one I went to, I got a file & polish for my nails and a 2 for 1 voucher for the posh restaurant inside the hotel which was hosting the event.0 -
I have done BNI on and off for many years - it epends on what type of person you are. 9 years later and I would say 60% of ALL my clients came from these meetings and the connections I made. The important thing to remember is that you are making connections and not selling to the people in the room, also you have to the type of person who liks to TALK- something I have never had a problem with!0
