I'm currently in the process of trying to get my money back. Here's my story...
I ordered a Sony Cybershot DSC-HX5V Digital Camera on 16/11/2010. I paid £219.95 and it said there were 6 items in stock. They charge your card immediately!!
I kept checking the status daily and for some reason the camera was not dispatched which prompted me to check the item again online to see how much stock they had. within 3 days the item had been reduced by £10 and it said they had 10 items in stock!
I did some research about SE and was shocked to find they are a Hong Kong outfit despite appearing like a UK company on their website.
I have emailed them to cancel my order of which it appears they have. They have told me it will take 5 working days to return the money to my account. (I'll report back in a week's time with the status).
I ended up searching elsewhere and foudn a few discounts online so ordered it from Jessops for £225 and I can claim the VAT back from Sony (I'm certain I can't do this with SE as the products are coming from HK).
My personal advice is avoid them like the plague!! I wish I'd read this forum topic before purchasing my camera!
Despite them being cheap just don't do it!! it's not worth getting it slightly cheaper!0 -
5 working days have now passed and I still haven't had my money back. When I questioned it they replied saying they have passed it to their financial department and I should hear back in another 3-5 working days. These guys are total criminals. Whatever happens do not order from these people!
I managed to get the camera from Jessops for £5 more (after using an online code).
Buying with Simply electronics is simply not worth the risk! I can't stress highly enough!! Don't buy from these people!!!0 -
yes i understand buddy i also like to buy i phone in cheap price is it possible ha0

Ha! like it!!
Just for the record, I did get my money back after calling them a bunch of Hong Kong criminals and threatening to report them to the police if I didn't receive my money back within 24 hours (not empty threats either).
This story fortunately had a happy ending but again can't stress enough, Don't buy from them, it's not worth the hassle!!0 -
Ordered camera for daughters cristmas present on the 10/12/10.Assured it was was dispatched on the 10/20/23/29 Finally lost it today having been told again it had just been packed again.Worst company ever just hope i get my money back.Based in HONG Kong no UK stock DONT TOUCH0

Hideous experience!!!
Golden rule - ask yourself why they are so cheap compared to other websites. Because they've never got the stock you want, and when they have it's damaged, they take your money anyway and then they don't refund it. Had to go to my bank to get it back.
DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY WITH A BARGEPOLE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!0 -
I'm sure Pixmania wouldn't be using them if they weren't sound.
In fact, bearing in mind the last comment, I imagine it's quite possible they are now a subsidiary of Pixmania.
Worth noting that Pixmania aren't a UK company either, so any protection under UK consumer legislation may not apply. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

This is a wind up right? Perhaps Poe's law. may apply.
Oh it isn't (Dave reads your earlier post)
Have a look here in particular the first search results.
Steer well clear of both sites.
