I'm sure Pixmania wouldn't be using them if they weren't sound.

In fact, bearing in mind the last comment, I imagine it's quite possible they are now a subsidiary of Pixmania.

Customer service and trying to return a falsely described product is proving a slow painful process.
They are now on my dont buy from list .

Try vanessa (assuming she still exists)

  • I emailed the company and asked where they were based and what their company registration number was.

They refused to give any information claiming it would breach their 'privacy'. Seems odd that a 'company' has privacy. I thought only private individuals could claim that.

Seems to me they have something to hide.
I shall avoid like the plague even if their prices are cheaper.

While companies DO have some privacy, the company registration number is public information. Well done for asking that question - and I agree, given their pathetic answer, people would be wise to avoid business with them.

So are simply electronics Ltd a UK Ltd company?

Their returns address is Isle of Wight and their registered address is in Hong Kong.

Looking at companies house simply electronics Ltd (company number 06351088) dissolved on the 05/01/2010
  • We're now on day 27 of waiting for a refund. Excuse after excuse after excuse. The phone never gets answered.
The email replies are clearly copy and paste.

I've now warned them that unless there's £101 back in the account by day 30, I'll not only open a complain with Google Checkout, Visa, the UK police and trading standards, but I will add £10 for every day outstanding.
And I will. I'm sick of this, and them. I've done it before with another company (I ended up £280 up, but dammit, I earned it!) and I'll do it again.

And I will make it my mission to warn everyone about Simply Electronics. I sure hope my Visa account balance is £101 better on Monday.
Otherwise I will unleash consumer hell!

  • I bought a £600 camcorder from them in July this year. Arrived promptly, no problems at all.
  • Well, I don't know if they read this forum or my last particularly hostile email got them all shook up, but at 04:30 this morning an email arrived telling me the money had been refunded, as it has.
Looking around the forums, I guess the way they work is that here are very few actual products, and they just cream the interest of having other people's money for as close to 30 days as they can get away with,
