Conservatory Roof Gaps

Hi all

Have had a conservatory built a while back and noticed when cleaning it that there are big gaps between the roof panels and the top of the frame as shown in pictures below.
Surely this is bad workmanship as it's freezing cold in winter with the drafts and in summer the insects flys, wasps etc get in throught he gaps.
Thoughts please?

No I haven't noticed any rain in as the roof overhangs the frame but I'm sure it's not finished off correctly and there should be no gaps.
  • Very poor workmanship i would say.......can you name the company?

Yes I can name the company but first I must give them a chance to air their views on it and hopefully put it right.

It fails the description of a conservatory.

I would be making waves at more than just the company itself, trading standards for a start.

As for naming them - why not give them 7 days to rectify the matter properly before you warn others of their wokmanship "skills".

Not much good to you now, but for others, conservatories are a massive expense - do not part with all the money until you are satisfied with the work done.

That is truly disgraceful, make sure they re-fit new sections properly and don't try bodging it with silicone etc.

I've been to see the guvnor.
Apparently everything is in order. Those gaps are supposed to be there to let air in from outside and at the top of the conservatory there are apparently some more holes which let air out.
It's called ventilation and it stops condensation build up on the roof.

Yeah, right! Like we believe their story. If the roof needs ventilation, then there are correct ways of providing it.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

I'm just saying what I was told.
The conservatories in the shop had gaps in as well and the boss was adamant that they should be there. I've trawled the net for pictures of other conservatories re gaps/draughts/ventilation but cannot come up with any.
However the boss said he was more than happy to fill all the gaps so I will wait and see what happens.
