Just discovered the delights of using RSS feeds in Firefox (by putting them on the toolbar I can see the latest headlines on the BBC site without having to go to the BBC site) which got me wondering, is it possible to have RSS feeds for a forum such as MSE?
It would be great to be able to click the MSE button on the tool bar and see the last 20 post titles!

MSE already has RSS feeds. There not directly noticeable though. There's a post somewhere for linking to them, I'm sure someone here will know it.
And yes it's not too hard to setup RSS feeds for forums. In slightly technical talk, upon the user requesting the feed, the server usually goes off and pulls all the necessary data from the database, then flushes it out as xml to the user."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

In Firefox
Copy the link
bookmarks / Manage Bookmarks
then File / New Live Bookmark0 -

The new forum has auto-discovery on every page, but it all links to the main feed. vBulletin still refuses to put up and autodiscover that links to the feed for the board you're viewing
Don't ask me why they don't0 -

sorry was in a bit of a rush
It's laid out badly anyway
From the Bookmarks Menu, select Manage Bookmarks
A new window will appear. Now from the File menu select New Live Bookmark and then paste the feed's url into the Feed Locations area0 -

sloughflint, don't give up. I've just done it from the instructions above and its easy.
Copy this text (for quick grabbit):
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/external.html?type=rss2&forumids=36
Then do what SRA says.
Paste the link in like SRA says and then give it a name (MSE Grabbit for me) and then if you move the new bookmark into the "Bookmarks Toolbar folder" then it'll be a button on your tool bar. Click it and it'll give you the latest posts in that forum!!!
