Advice on which one?

Daughter looking for LG Cookie for birthday. Cheapest can find is this

either on Vodaphone or Orange. Plan would be, as they come unlocked, to remove sim and put Texco mobile or O2 sim in.
2 Q's - What would be the best as far as having least network stuff left on phone once changed sim? I've read mixed reviews about the phone so is it worth getting? Alot of people rubbish cpw products so would the phone be better directly bought form Tesco (but at a higher price).

I have tried to convince daughter to get Samsung Tocco lite but this also has problems I hear on O2.

Q's - Is this just related to O2 phones from CPW and is it likely to be OK bought from other shops on O2 or indeed from cpw but different network (and changing sim again).

Have read and confused myself with other reviews. Looking for personal experience rI guess on realiable forum to try to help me work out best path to take.

There will be very little branding with whatever network you choose.
thats the beauty of unlocked handsets, they just have the generic software thats put on by the manufacturer.
but some functions will be blocked depending what network you end up using.

Thanks Snakeeyes21. It was really the generic software that was concerning me from the point of view I think I have read that perhaps Orange put more on thier phones? What kind of functions may be blocked?

Yep orange firmware is the most restrictive, they like to remove alot of features, but as CPW, dialaphone etc dont have handsets for each particular network (costs more in stock) they just have handsets from the manufacturer that dont have the firmware (each networks custom software) installed like when you buy direct from the network.
but some networks dont support all the features of phones, some block video calls, skype apps, msn apps etc
