I have a punto 2000 ran only 45000 km. Last month I have to replace the engine. I have spend on the car more than I have purchased for. On all cost I will avoid PUNTO.

sounds like i will too i think i was spoilt having a micra 1.3 slx i know they arent the best looking cars but it was so reliable and very nippy too so i think thats what i might look for again

Yes but the average person wont be able to fix it themselves, and a garage wont install "On you bought from e-Bay"

Won't they? it's really not a difficult thing to do.

And the company that sells them on ebay also sells them to the trade (ie. me!) and have been doing for many years. They specialise in car electronic repairs and give a 2 year warranty on the items.

    Tomorrow!!!!

    dont touch a fiat please!

failed gearbox, wiper mechanism, amongst other things! plus parts are more expensive due to being a foreign manufacturer!

buy a ford or vauxhall! reliable, cheaper parts and just cheaper to run!

Ford and Vauxhall made in the UK then?

still cheaper parts though! nearly £400 quid for the gearbox and £170 for the wiper linkage (labour included)!

fiats dont even keep their value like vauxhall and ford do! (maybe different due to the current financial climate though)

Maybe we've been lucky, but both myself and my son have had Puntos and they've been brilliant
I sold mine 2 yrs ago to get a 4x4 and the person who bought it off me still has it and drives it everyday

    Hi
My very first car was a Fiat Punto and it was a great little car! I had no problems at all and the only thing i had to change were the 2 front tyres and i drove mine for 3 years! Three of my friends drive Punto's now and there all happy. I see alot of them about, which has to be a good sign. I do think they have an unfair reputation and people can't see that they have got better. You probably wouldn't find a car that nobody's ever had problems with. I've also had a Corso which gave me endless amounts of problems and cost me quite alot to fix, but then you'll get people telling you how reliable there Corsa has been!

I think its pot luck really, go and test drive some different cars and take somebody who knows what they are talking about with you.

    Good luck!
