Someone asked about rejections - my friend was rejected - they have received a transcript of the telephone recording between Picture and the husband - the FSCS are saying that they were not given bad or incrorrect advise in relation to the PPI therefore their claim for compensation has been rejected.

The transcript of the call they must have had a good operator because they even asked them if they fully understood what the PPI. It aslo showed they were told thaat if they wished to seek independant advise then they could do so before signing the paperwork and agreeing to taking the PPI. Also it advised them of the cooling off period and they had 21 days if they decided the PPI was not the product they required and they would be given a full refund i.e. the loan would be re-calculated minus the PPI.

    They continue to appeal.

Just wondering what the basis of appeal is now?
  • Hi everybody, been reading all your posts over the last couple of days wish i had found you all sooner !. Yes i am another picturite ! no:350 ish on the list, you all got my hopes up a bit when the first cheques came in but now this talk of refusals has me a bit rattled. I am not really sure what my grounds for miss selling are and my confidence is waining. to be honest i thought that pictures whole business very dubious and any one with a claim would win by default,, it seems i was wrong and we will now have to have a case for mis selling. Deloitte have sent me a request for information as i have settled the loan with a re-mortgage, i have fillled in the form and returned it. is this a positive sign ? I don,t feel i have put my case to deloitte and may collate some info/reasons why i think i was duped etc but not sure if its too late for that, can we appeal if refused ?

    Hello honestbob and welcome
Don't be disheartened by the one declined. That is the only one we really have actual info on.

Our loan is settled with Picture and we had to send in information regarding the new lender. This is because they need to calculate the interest we are still paying on the ppi amount of the new loan.

If it will make you feel any better, we were told by Deloitte, the extra info would not be requested unless we had a strong case. SO here's hoping.:D

Also if you have any extra info you feel may help I would definatley send it to Deloitte, it can only help.

What reasons did you give for your mis sell/QUOTE]

  • Thanks Busbhy
The bit about not asking for info unless you had a strong case is good to hear. I think i will ring deloittes tomorrow and ask where they are up to and if they have enough info etc it may be a good indicator too.
Must just say to you and all the regulars on here i read through lots of your posts last night and the storyline is better than most soap operas (especially Dialysis) and isnt it just gr8 that the net is bringin y,all together !!

Give them a ring and post on here to let us know how you get on. We would all be lost without each other on here. We would be so much in the dark, not knowing anything, imagine, just doesn't bare thinking about. The more Picturites on the site the better;)

We even have some non-picturites on the site who are brilliant and help us out immenseley:beer:

And dialysis, we are all so pleased for her, she has been through so much and now all the worry and stress is behind her.

We know so much more of what is going on, imagine life without this site, we would be just sitting and waiting day after day. This way we all have a little input to share from our phone calls etc.

Good luck and let us know how you get on tomorrow;)

Bob wishing you luck and you will be okay.

We too had to send extra info, I imagine you received the questionnaire, as well, or you may do if you have not yet, but not to worry, this is a procedure with some, like yourself we re-mortgaged as well.;)
We look forward to hearing from you.
