    Thanks.

Do I send the template letter from this website?

Also what is the address for FSCS? Again can I find it from this website?

Thanks people for all your help.

    Regards,
    Longword

    Hi Longword.;)

What you do is email/ring the FSCS and you let them know about you have a claim in regards of Picture, they will then arrange to post you a form to complete, details of contact here:

    Good luck.

Hi Folks, I have read this thread with interest, my wife and I took out a loan with Picture in November 2004 and we were also conned in to the single premium policy, we took out a loan of £25100 and they sold us the PPI as a single premium of £6262.45 a total loan balance of £31,362.45, we took the loan over 15 years paying £327.80 per month, admittedly a couple of payments were late however when we settled the loan early at the end of July 2007 we paid £31,420.33, which included a rebate of £690 for the insurance!
I made an attempt to claim against Picture and sent them one of the MSE letters, with no success.
I now understand that Picture Financial have gone bust, do I have a chance of claiming back what they owe me in respect of an insurance policy that I paid in effect £5572 for a period of 20 months!!
    Welcome Charliemac
Glad you got some advice. Make sure you give FSCS a call and keep us posted.;)

    Hi All,

Thanks Di I have just e-mailed my request for a complaints form although I may ring them tomorrow also.

    Fingers crossed.

Finally what will the FSCS be able to compensate me for? Is it just the PPI element of the loan or is it this puls the usual 8% interest? Because i see on their website they can only compensate 100% for the first £2,000 and 90% of anything after that? Also will the cheque I have had back for 25% last year be take into account?

Again thank you all for the help.

    thanks,
    Longword

Beaniebabe ours is exactly the same my OH was covered for everything I wasnt and they never spoke to him either:mad: I think all these policies you get to cover you are naff basically we had insurance for our mortgage but when I tried to claim I wasnt covered as it was a pre exsisting medical condition. The small print did state though that you could claim if you hadnt suffered for two years, I hadnt but still couldnt claim on that either. It is s..t. Mot sure about the interest though sorry
That is very interesting Dialysis! Looks like they were telling everyone the same.
If we do not get a successful outcome we will have to discuss this further and stick together on this one!!
I never knew you were only covered upto age of 65!!
    Enjoy your bike ride !!X:D

Just tell the FSCS you have received this and they will take it into account of any calculations if you have a claim.

If it were me (and sorry for butting in here:o) I would think you will all be OK without submitting anything else (which could hold up the claims) as they were simply single premiums full stop. They were very costly and that is the reason why most are upheld through FOS. ALso the fact of having no choice to buy a cheaper option and the main one, it only covered for the first 5 years of the loan.

Thanks for that marshlllka. Oh and you are not butting in, we all appreciate any advice we can get.
I am sure you are correct but I so afraid of becoming over

    Hi All,

I am slightly confused and it would seem not the only one! My wife and took a loan out with Picture in 2004 also and we still have it. But we also took out a single premium PPI agreement which if I am right in thinking we got told we had to take out for our applicant to be successful!
However last year we received a cheque from Picture saying becasue we hadn't claimed on our PPI policy we were entitled to 25% back? Followed by another cheque this year and next for reduced percentages.

Does this mean we cannot lodge a claim against them?

Also who would I need to send the claim to and would I be able to use the template letters from this site?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Regards,
    Longword

Yes, still make the claim, as you are still paying interest on it. It will probally be double if not more than the original premium. They will take off what you have been paid, but you shouls still get some back
Go for it, contact FSCs Monday:beer:

If you took the policy out say in your 30s/40/50s how could we be covered until we are 65 as the policy only covers five years.

It states in t&c you can take out further cover after the five if you need too -AT AN EXTRA COST OF COURSE:rolleyes: condradicts itself somewhat!!!!!
