Quick question re recorded delivery?
I posted 8 items on 10th August 2009 - 6 are showing delivered online with signature but 2 are showing as being 'accepted at post office on 10/08/09' and nothing else - can anyone shed any light - does mean they have likely gone AWOL?
TIA

Technically speaking recorded delivery is not tracked its only a signature at the other end(when they actually do it). It sometimes can take a while for things to be updated so that may be whats happened
If they are ebay items and the buyers havent contacted you just wait and see what happens. If they have contacted you RM dont count things as lost untill 15 days. So see if you can get them to with a little longer.0 -
They could still be on their way wait a few more days and see what happens. If it doesnt change contact the post office.Total payment recieved from GPT etc as June: £0.000

Hi
Thanks for the quick replies.
They aren't ebay goods and I would prefer not to contact the companies as yet. I will leave it a few days and then contact the PO.
Thanks guys:beer:The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.:TBig thanks to all competition posters:T0 -
I was derived a recorded sign for and the postie just put it through my box, I sent one and was fortunate enough that the delivering postie got a signature, I think it's like a lot of things today, some posties don't give a RATS A$$Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

About 40-60% of the recorded items I send never update from the 'accepted at post office ' status, which is why I don't use it for ebay anymore. Is that because you havent got the tracking id from the post office for this service. Apparently ths is what you need from the counter service .Renders doing it all online useless as you get no tracking id.so says another ordinary mug fighting the 1% who own the political machine grinding them down from on high...

I think recorded tracks at 2 stages only.
1. When you initially hand it over at the post office counter
2. When it's signed for.
The 2 parcels that haven't had any updates are merely at stage "1". Like everyone is saying, it really isn't a tracking system as your package could be anywhere between stage "1" and in the hands of the posty who is 2 foot away from the delivery address. You just won't know until it's actually received and then the system is updated to show that. So yes, it could also could go awol.0 -
I have had stuff showing that its been accepted at the post office after 10 days of posting it and then I have checked with the person I sent it to and they said it arrived the day after posting so it may well be there already!0

Like you about half of my recorded items (not ebay though as I don't use it) never show as delivered. That's why I think it is useless for ebay purposes as paypal will refund the buyer if they are crooked enough to claim non delivery, yet will not refund seller as item is not lost.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. How would OP be checking the tracking if they had somehow failed to
get the 'tracking' numbers? My TV is broken!
