Can anyone help, i'm due for an up-grade and have called my current provider O2, and they told me i would have to pay £159.99 for a new phone i want, i told them this was crazy as i could start again with them on there lowest tarrif & it the phone would cost me nothing!!! I also told them i don't mind entering a new 12month contract but they still said it would cost me the same. Is there anything i can do?

Go to one of the online shops adn you will get a smashing deal and a new phone and then port your old number across (or just use the new one - depends how much you like your current number)

I think you can only port your number to a different provider, not O2 to O2. But you could get round this for example by porting to a Virgin pay-as-you-go and then porting to O2. But check if there are restrictions on how soon you can port again.

If you are allowed to move your number within a network its called a Migration not a port.;)

i am with o2 when i went for a upgrade i was told this as well i told them i would move my contract to a other service provider the girl on the phone said they would speak to someone and call back 15 mins later i get a call free upgrade with a even better package!
