Or even worse...the negs  You could probably kiss bye-bye to your ebay account if that happened.

62 negs, that's almost 3 pages full if users have the view on '25 per page'

Or Italian woman might just pay and everyone will be happy.

People here are so negative sometimes.

If you read what OP says
If she is happy to pay what I come up with we will go ahead, if not then we will mutually cancel the transaction.

Buyer has already indicated that there is a chance they will not want to pay. The discussion concerns whether or not it is wise to proceed with a large amount of sales where buyer has already stated they might not pay.

But buyer has agreed to the above, if the postage is too much the auctions will be cancelled.

Sounds like seller and buyer have communicated well and come up with a good plan?

It is completely up to the OP whether she trusts the buyer here and only the OP can make that decision having seen the buyer's stats and emails.

Personally I prefer my stuff to get sold and shipped, I would not deal with someone who may decide not to pay and I certainly don't trust mutuals. As a seller I consider myself in charge, not the buyer and anyone already dictating terms about how much they want to pay would be setting off alarm bells in my head..the fact the buyer is in Italy just makes it worse.

Thanks for all the comments, the buyer indicated that she would be happy to pay up to £50 for postage, and has indeed bought a similar batch of books in the UK recently, so thanks to Brooker Dave's advice, I am happy that we will complete the transaction. In any case, she's been outbid on quite a few now anyway.

I got very worried initially, but further communication with the buyer has alleviated my concerns. I might eat my words in a week or so's time, but hopefully not.

Just thought I'd send an update - in the end the buyer purchased 75-odd books once she'd got back from holiday. I arranged to send it standard airmail in 2 parcels (so both were under the £39 value). She was happy with the postage cost, and has this morning left me glowing feedback as both parcels have arrived safe and well.

So all in all it went well in the end :T

You were lucky. I hate shipping Airmail to Italy as it can take an age to get there and the Italian buyers seem to get pretty upity about the delay. Looking forward to the new system where we can block buyers from specific countries - bye bye Italy!
