Impossible, I'm afraid. "Southern Ireland" hasn't existed since 1922.

If you mean "Ireland", you can try Hertz, Budget, Enterprise and more. Where specifically in Ireland do you need to collect the car?

Yes I mean EIRE :) .... collecting & returning to Kerry airport. I was wondering whether it cheaper to deal direct with a local car hire firm as opposed to the usual suspects ... hertz etc. Also if there are any discount codes to use in existence. Also does any ever use SCDW (Super Collision damage waiver - which protects the excess?)

Actually, you mean Ireland. Éire is only correct when speaking Irish.

I would recommend starting here. If you choose to book Hertz, go through the Aer Arann website for (what I've always found to be) the best prices.

For zero excess cover, I've read good things about this and this crowd.

I have recently found Easy Car much cheaper than dealing direct with the company I have used for years!

I came back from Ireland 2 days ago and hired a car through Hertz (purely because they had the size car I required and I went through Quidco).

I opted for the SCDW and it was EUR12 per day extra. I then went to look at the car to look out for any scratches/dents prior to driving and asked one of the staff to look with me. As I had bought SCDW, he told me not to bother.

They also give the car a full tank of petrol to start you off with, with the option of them re-filling the car at the end at a reduced per litre rate. I took advantage of this, (as I had 'pre-paid' for the car, there was no re-fuelling charge).

On a Quidco note, I paid Hertz for the hire of the car on the 14th August and my 'earned' amount has already been received by Quidco. Good going Hertz!
It's wouldn't have not wouldn't of, shouldn't have not shouldn't of and couldn't have not couldn't of. Geddit?

Best bet is to price comparison site it... Then get in contact with the local brokers off the site
