Orange sim card in T mobile phone

I have an orange sim card in what was a T mobile phone contract phone. I had the phone unlocked and the phone works fine for calls and texts. However, I have never been able to get the phone to send photo messages or connect to the internet. When I spoke with Orange they said they would send me a text message which would sort the problem out - it never did and after a couple of attempts at calling Orange and getting nowhere, I gave up.

I now have the opportunity for another more modern T mobile phone, but I'm concerned I'm going to have the same problem. I would get a T mobile sim card, but I can't get any signal at all at home. Am I likely to have the same problem again with the phone and should I just get an Orange phone?

I'm fairly sure that if you go onto Orange's website, you can get all the settings there, or fill in your details and get the text sent with all the settings on.

    Try here; http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/selfservice/landing.jsp

You just need to get updated settings on your phone. As above go on the website and it's usually a case of getting them via text for free.

o2 send them automatically when you use a new phone...which is nice :-)

If it doesn't work ring customer services and they should be able to send them. You will need it for SMS and mobile internet too.

I've got an Orange phone on o2, it'd be useless for me with the wrong data settings!

I've done that in the past too and although they've sent the message and I've done what I should, it didn't change anything. :-(

Is it a phone that Orange sell ? They only have setting for the handsets they offer on contract or payg.
After the setting arrived on the phone did you set them to the default settings ?

If you post the model we might be able to find them for you?

Well Orange do that one, my daughter used to have it.
To see if the setting for Orange are active try this...

    Picture Messaging (MMS) Settings:
Go to messages> (5) Settings> (2) Mulitimedia Settings> (3) MMS Profiles> MMS Profiles (1) Current Profile> Open and select and save your Orange Profile.

You should now be able to send and receive MMS's ! (I hope).

It's only giving me the option for T mobile, profile, 2,3, 4 and 5. It's currently set to profile 2.
