Is the account still open? How have they said they will refund the charges?

The likelihood is that it remains open for credits to the account. Unfortunately, it is reasonable to repay it into the account where the charges came from. Can I ask whether that puts the account in credit or clears any amount outstanding?
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
