Plus size clothing

I hate Evans, overpriced and under quality. Ann Harvey are OK but too mumsy most of the time and Elvi are too expensive and too mumsy. I buy most of my stuff from Yours - who used to be called Size Up, there is a shop near where I work and a few others mainly in the south of England they have a website under yoursclothing which gives details of all the stores and shows a limited range available online.
Other than that I buy loads of clothes at Tesco, especially stretchy black trousers for work. My biggest gripe was that when I was pregnant there was absolutely NO plus sized maternity wear. The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
I am not 100% sure what size I am but I am about two stone lighter then I was nearly 2 years ago. Still wearing a lot of the same clothes
Reckon I between a 18 and a 20 as my 22 size clothes have a lot of room in them.
But Asda/Tescos and even Peac0cks all go up to bigger sizes.
I too have the problem of being a short !!!!!!. Which like Katieowl (are you the same KatieOwl as on frugalliving.about.com website) points out means that I get bigger sizes and they are longer then what they should be.
But I am trying rather hard to get lose another couple of stone and keep it off. Making me around 14/16 which should mean I have better choice of clothes :j

I live in Leicester and there are quite a few independent 'larger ladies' shops, or as my friend, who is a 22, calls them 'fat birds shops'. She finds it easier to get clothes than I do, I take an 8 in skirts/trousers. I think a lot of larger sizes are longer because they have further to go, if you know what I mean, it's not a straight up-and-down thing!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

i am size 16 but six feet tall - get stuff that fits from long tall sally but its quite expensive, i tend to hang about the website until the midnight hours if i know there is a sale due, LTS used to have a clearance outlet but it has disappeared from the listings on the back of brochure for some reason, the worse thing anybody can say to me in a chain store is " i love it but its to long" , i have often said " i like it as well, can i have the bit you cut off to sew onto mine".:hello:What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
Hartlepool have an X catalogue store but u have to catch it on a good day 2 find the larger stuff, ive had some really nice larger sized tops from there that were originally fro the "simplybe" catalogue, just a case of first come first served i guess.
no new look, mark 1 or h&m in hartlepool sadly.... well there is but they dont stock the larger range, so i tend to go to peacocks as they do some really fashionable stuff at a really great price. We do have an Evans store but sadly if u wear something from there for a night round the town u see about 10 people wearing the same outfit...lol
I agree with the other posters about asda and Tesco, as they have some really nice clothes very affordable and good quality.
loops£2 coin savers club = £118

My moan is that clothes, particlarly tops, for fatties (like me) seem to mostly use man-made fibres which can be very hot and sweaty-ish. More cotton and natural fibres in styles that look as if you're still in there fighting would be appreciated.0

There is a distinct lack of good plus sized clothes at a good price. I am not plus size but have a very large bust size so I need to buy all my tops from dorthy perkins and take them in at the sides. I think the cut of clothes is really good in DPs well worth the money, unlike evans or bon marché they dont cut the clothes in a flattering way, no darts in the breasts or anything and they just hang of the body.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

Actually that reminds me, I found this website the other day whilst looking for new underwear and might be some use to someone. They are really cheap and they dont charge any extra for a size 20 than they do for a sixe 12.
