Plus size clothing

This always bugs me not a lot of plus size 'cheapie' clothing Evans have the odd sale but that's about it, I would love to open a shop for larger ladies at cheapie prices.
Anyone make their own clothing?

  • Hi My wife has the same problem , Evans and Anne Harvey have the monopoly on this and need some serious competition , Can i ask where you are as my wife uses a shop which stocks plus sizes and is based in the north of England >?

I have edged up to plus over the last couple of years (age unfortunately) and I find it a nightmare to source nice clothes at a reasonable price. Oh for an outlet here in s wales. Please do it OP and pm me if you do mail order. Nice clothes to skim over tums and bums

I think I'm at the bottom end of the plus sized clothing :o I buy a lot of clothes off ebay as you can get some good deals on there.

    Hi the company is called
The x catalogue store ( its a outlet for JD WILLIAMS )
The store we use is in Kendal ..in the Westmorland shopping centre

    http://www.westmorland.org/home.asp

01539 740060 , i used to have the x cat stores no but seem to have lost it . Ring the shopping centre and im sure they will help .
The other xcat stores i think are in Castleford in W Yorkshire on the FREEPORT SITE and i think but not sure in the Gateshead Area ( again i might be wrong call the store in Kendal ) The range of clothes they get in changes week to week and can vary so worth checking .
  • Might be Cramlingham or ton ? again not 100% also i think there is another in Whitehaven in Cumbria

Ive never seen any of these ex catalogue shops that stock larger sizes in either Cramlington or Gateshead.

Im 22 and i always find ex catalogue shops and especially the rare ones that sell plus size clothes always stock things for the more "mature" lady. I dont want to look fat AND frumpy... im happy just looking fat :D :j

i find New look, mark one, h&m and asda all stock a good range of "plus" sized clothes up to 24/26 and i think h&m go up to a 30 in some things.
Just because a shop isnt entirely geared up for us voluptuous ladies, doesnt mean you cant find cheap bargains.

I buy most my clothes in new look or asda as they are both VERY cheap. I agree with Evans being rather expensive but on whole the quality is ten times better than the the cheap clothes ive bought. Or so i have found. And the sizing is so generous. Since i lost 4stone, somethings in evans are now too big for me, on their lowest offered size, a 16. guess its a size anomaly as im not a 16 in any other shops

I make my own clothes from patterns of items i have bought, pay £15 for a pair of trousers once then re-make them. Same goes for tops :)

have any of you tried Bonmarche their range starts at 12 to 24 getting quite fashionable also-- it's owned by the peacocks group... originally aimed at the over 40's now targets 30's..best and newest ranges are always at front of shop.
