Tesco do 1626, I'm a 22 (at the moment - trying to go down!) and the prices are good, but I find that all the tops are sleeveless or tiny cap sleeves and not flattering for us more voluptuous girlies!

NEXT go to a 22 in the directory (although not the cheapest of shops , the 1/2 price sales often have bits and pieces, I got a lovely camisole for £3 for under a jacket)

Marks and Spencer online go to a 24 - look out for the sales.

New Look are well priced, go to a 26 , and , i found, generously sized.

I buy loads of ebay -I go for Evans and Ann Harvey and have had some fantastic bargains. Missed out on a brand new Ann Harvey skirt and jacket suit for £8 the other day - I'd been watching it for days -was gutted I'd forgotten!

Simply Be are so much better than they used to be - lots more modern stuff, but quite pricey.

Tesco do some nice clothes from size 16 to 26 I think, but they sell quickly.

I used to buy a fair bit from eBay (only evans, ann harvey brands) I like the east coast range so search for that, but I never pay more than a fiver and find a lot of it goes straight back on, as it just doesn't suit when I get it.

As I was going on holiday and have a few things planned over the summer, I ventured into Evan's for the first time in ages and bought a few t shirts that will last me a while, it was pricey, but great to be able to try on and get what i liked.

I've been fortunate to have holidayed in the US for the last few years and bought all my clothes there Walmart jeans $20, and tee's for me at $8 etc (worth going back just to shop...lol). Also I'm around a size 26 in the uk but that's just a 24 in the US...:j

There definitely needs to be more shops for larger ladies. My mum is plus-size and I have gone round Evans with her and the quality if the clothes is atrocious. Ann Harvey used to be quite classy, but their quality has also gone down, but the prices haven't!

I have a weird problem in that I have to buy my clothes from petite ranges as I'm tiny(sadly I can't buy childrens' clothes and save money 'cause I have bosoms!). It seems to be that the smaller a garment the more expensive it is. I was looking at a skirt in one shop and the same skirt was also in their normal and plus-size ranges. The petite skirt was more expensive than the other skirts even though there was considerably less material in it!

Thats what i meant to say as well....there's an x catalogue store galleries Washington, but i never venture in, always looks like a load of rubbish.

Ive been in the one in the galleries ONCE, i walk past it every day for 2yr and its just minging, i only went in because they had dancing santa claus' at christmas and i wanted something super tacky for a secret santa.

I dont know if this is any good for anyone but im a size 16 to 18/20 (with boobs!) and ive found that ASDA boys T shirts for ages 14 to 15 fit well
I got my first one from a charity shop and was really pleased as I didn';t look at the label right so I throught that it was a size 14 and when I washed it it was quite a surprise to find it said 14-15 years

This is something that ive been talking about for a long time (opening a plus size clothing shop) round where I live. Some thing for the 16 to 30 age range, I love some of the stuff in Evans but my purse doesnt but I can get quite a few bargins in the sales in shop sometimes.

Does anyone know which H&M stock the larger sizes, I go to the two in Oxford street and I find it hard to find a size 16.

What drives me nuts is the way that bigger sizes are cut!!!

I am about a 16/18 and they have that size in quite a few of the high street shops. But the bigger sizes are just the smaller sizes - cut wider. They do not take into account the fact the women are 3D and most bigger sizes have bigger boobs! There is no shaping in the garments so they just hang.

This drives both my DD's nuts too, as they are both 36D. One is a 5'9" size sixteen and the other a 5'2" size 12!!!

Also at 5'3 I find bigger sizes are WAY TOO long - especially Hennes, which are made for AMAZONS IMHO - their trousers should cost me about 1/3 less bearing in mind the material I would have to remove to make them wearable.

In recent times I have reverted to make my own clothes again. It's the only way I can get something that fits like it should. I tend to make wrap around skirts or loose trousers, using sari materials and stuff like that. I think being an old hippy is quite useful I make quite simple items, then buying t-shirts to go with, although I have knocked out a couple of gypsy blouses without too much difficulty.

I bought three items from evans for the first time, three months ago and I am ready to throw them out. They are absolute rubbish. The quality is terrible

I am also going to get the sewing machine out as I am 5` and the lengths are never right. Now to source some nice material
