we have this one laid in the hall, bedroom and sittingroom
its been down now about 11/12 years its stood up
to (elderly) cats, dogs, kids and on various occasions five
floods, terrible problems with old central heating
system.Plus when I was full time caring for mum
carers 4 times a day and district nurses three times
a week all spilling and dropping

It still looks the the same as when first laid.

Having pets we were advised to go for a shade
that was not too light,as it shows all the muck
and not too dark as it shows all the dust & hairs
we got a shade called teak.
Everyone always says how come your floor always
looks spotless and mine always looks in need of a
clean an hour after its done

We just vaccuum and mop it once a day in Stardrops
we have the classic 800 laid not the dearest one in
the range, but of everyone we know we are the only
ones left with the same flooring, all have had to
    replace theirs over time.

Quick step perspective 4 looks like wood and comes in a wide range of colours. Not cheap, but you really do get what you pay for. I am far happier with it than the very expensive solid wood flooring which I had perviously.

  • We are just in the process of choosing laminate flooring for our kitchen and are looking at Pergo flooring. Can anyone recommend it? Also we're not sure what colour to get, our units are pearwood with a very dark green work surface. Just painted the walls Natural Calico. Am beginning to dream of laminate floor covering! Any suggestions gratefully received.

I am looking at the Quickstep laminate for my hallway, dining room and living room. Does anyone know the difference between the perspective 2 and the perspective 4? I know its the number of grooves - i.e 2 grooves vs 4 grooves...but what exactly does that mean to the layperson? Is one easier to fit than the other? They appear to be the same price...
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi gizz_mo
If you are using Quick Step laminate, which ever range you go for won't make any difference to the fitter as it uses the Uniclic system to join the pieces. The only difference between Perspective 2 and Perspective 4 is like you say the number of grooves it has. That's all. Hope it helps. :)
  • Just in case anyone is interested, we have recently fitted Quickstep in our kitchen, dining room, hall and lounge. It is fantastic, very realistic and so easy to keep clean. We used the natural varnished oak perspective 4 groove planks. Everyone thinks we have fitted real wood!

My husband did a water test - he placed a cut sheet ie with an open grain, in a bucket of water so it was submerged and left if for two weeks. When he went back to the plank it has hardly deteriorated at all and had only just started to soak up the water. :j

If you look around you can get it for about £18.00 psm

    Thanks Mr Vampy.

Also I know another silly question but - just so I don't get this wrong, what is the best way to work out the total metres squared needed? Do you just measure the room and multiply teh dimensions?
eg say the room is 14ft by 12ft - is it as simple as 14x12 = 168 sq feet and then convert that into metres? Sorry I am a novice at all this so appreciate your help.
I understand that it is best also add 10% to cover breakage and bits that need cutting etc...
