Seven seaters?
Our family is due to expand to 5 next year with 3 under fives, so sadly we will have to say goodbye to one of our cars, as both won't take 3 car seats in the back. In terms of space I think we need a 7 seater.
There must be a fair few who've had this situation- has anyone got any good experiences of cars which would take our family comfortably.
I'd be open to buying reliable used or reasonable new with a 0% finance deal- quite like the look of the Citroen Grand Picasso. Before the anti-French car lobby start, I've owned French cars for 10 years with no problems!
Any advice/tips gratefully received

We have a C8, which is very roomy. I personally wouldn't go for one of the MPVs with flimsy fold-down rear seats, because they're only suitable for children.0

Spot on. Even the new Galaxy has flimsy foldaway seats. I loved the look of it, but was very disappointed when we looked at one.
There is a good distance between the rear seats in the C8 - enough for a "big shop" and enough to feel safe.
We had an Espace that was great for space too; unfortunately, it had had two new turbos by 23,000 miles (one of which was done in France!!), which kind of put us off and we got rid.0 -
a c8 is hardly; stylish, reliable or inspiring and will hold it's value worse than a footballer with two broken legsYou got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.0

Whats your budget and do you have any brand preferences? How about a 6-seater... Fiat multipla for example. Kia do the Sedona, Hyundai do the trajet- both of which are 7 seaters."In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act. "

I have a 1999 ford galaxy and i love that car. It's a 2.3 petrol auto so it is a bit thirsty but you get better fuel economy from the manual/diesel models. We got it for £650 because it had dented doors, no mechanical issues, runs perfect. i love that car
I can't speak for what anyone said about the new seats being flimsy, as mines and old one!
Also what about the VW Touran or Nissan Serena? Although i don't think they do the Serena new anymore.
On the other hand, my nan has a peugeot 306 and she gets 3 car seats in it all the time even with an adult passenger in front!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o0 -

Budget is anything up to £19k (subject to a decent finance deal) We'd consider a 6 seater. I really don't like the Fiat Multipla. I'd be more open to the Kia models- anyone have anything good to say about them?0 -
The sedona is great, a friend of ours had one from motability and found it very versatile.
Oh, and stay away from the Toyota Previa, if the new ones are anything like the old ones the engine will keep overheating and eventually die altogether.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o0 -
hi
the toyota previa or the import version the estima is the best people carrier the only one you can fit everyone and a double buggy or pram and pushcahir in and still have room for luggage! the nissan serena is like a van to drive! the kia sedona is a 3ltr so very juicy.
mine died and at the moment when we all go out together either me or hubby has to ride the motorbike while 4 kids and pushchair go in the polo. No holiday for us this year till we have a new one as nothing fits luckily we had a family holiday with the estima before it died all 6 of us pram 3 suitcases a cool box travel cot 6 big bags of toys food ect and bedding and still room to spare! good luck finding something.Aim to be debt free in 3 years!

We've had a Grand Voyager for years. It has been very expensive to run (3.3 petrol!), but it is a great practical car for a large family..0
