Returning Natwest Traveller's Cheques to Natwest

Bit of a strange experience for me today. I tried to return £100 (5x£20 sterling) of Natwest travellers cheques left over from holidays back to Natwest in Lincoln.

I took the usual array of passport, driving licence, utility bills and I do have an account at the branch.

After an hour in the branch the staff refused to cash the cheques and I had to leave with them  ! I’ve written to Natwest but I am at a bit of a loss over this one – any suggestions as to how to change the cheques for cash?

    Sounds odd.

See if they will let you pay them into your account and then withdraw cash.
