O2 payg giving free texts

Hello,

I recently cancelled my vodafone contract and moved onto the PAYG sim card from O2 that gives 300 text messages each month for £10.

My date of renewal is the 25th of each month and for the 1st month this worked fine. I realised it had started charging me so I topped up another £10. This past month I had sent over my 300 texts before the 25th and it started charging me as expected.Come yesterday morning I was sending texts and my credit ceased going down having not topped up the phone??
So far i've probably sent 20 odd more messages and still the credit remains the same.

Now im not complaining at all but just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with these simcards. What is frustrating is I do need to put some credit on it because Im going to Prague on saturday and there is only 36p on it at the moment. I'm just worried im going to reset my potentially now free phone!!

I've had a text telling me I've been given 50 texts to use in 30 days because it was my birthday (it was) :)

  • never happened to me. In fact I'm regularly foning o2, complaining they have ripped me off with my 300 txts, ie giving me loads less than my 300 allowance. Must've made xtra out of me than £10 top up on all the 0870 calls I've needed to make to them.

OP, check out eBay - try searching free texts and you'll likely find someone still selling the info on how to hoodwink the O2 free texts - I don't think it works - it does happen, but it isn't an exact science - I think I had a few free months in the last three years.
