New printer cheaper than cartridges?
Comments
-
Printer manufacturers follow two designs when building printers, fixed head and disposable head.
Fixed head - the head is a part of the printer and lasts as long as the printer. Eg, Brother, Epson, Kodak, Ricoh.
Disposable head - the head is a part of the ink cartridge and is replaced everytime you need new ink. Eg. HP.... I don't know of any others!
As such, HP inks are usually a lot more expensive than Epson or Brother inks.0 -
lexmark= expensive inks
dell= expensive inks (re-badged lexmark)
canon (x2 cartridge models) expensive inks
epson sx dx cheap inks
brother dcp or most new brother inkjet printers cheap ink cartridges
most new hp x2 cartridge models ship with low capacity ink cartridges also quite expensive for the real deal

Epson D series = expensive inks and drinks like a fish...
Of the main compatible cartridges I've found 'Inkrite' to be better than 'Pro-jet' albeit slightly more expensive0
