I thought I would share my recent Orange experience with you.
I have a mobile contract with orange that has just ended. I wanted to upgrade, have always paid my bills on time and have been with them for years. On my last contract I received a loyalty deal. When i called to upgrade i was advised that I can't have a new phone and stay on the same contract, it would cost me £10 more for the same deal, I could have a new phone with a lower amount of free minutes for £2 more than i was paying but they were all crap phones.
I spoke to "supervisor" who was an ignorant little man in his whole attitude. He told me that I didnt make orange enough money to warrant continuing the deal!
Odd that as my partner renewed his contract 2 mths ago and is paying the same amount i have been each month for the same minutes / texts and he got a nice new quality phone.
Fair enough, I dont want to be a customer to a company who doesnt want me so I asked to give my 30 days notice, he said fine and would process my 30 days notice. He then proceeded to bar calls to and from my phone!
I know he did this as when i was on the call i received a text so it was working then, my partner tried to call me as soon as i had ended the call and it was barred!.
I called back and managed to get through jumped up superviosrs staff memeber who i had originally spoken with. She didnt realise who she was speaking to and told me that the phone had been barred but couldn't understand why. I then jogged her memory as to who I was and asked to speak to the superviosr. After being on hold for 5 minutes she came back to me and said, contrary to what she had told me 5 minutes earlier, that ther was no bar on my phone and if i would care to try it it would work.
Furious is not the word for it, I am making a formal complaint to them as this idiot had no right to do this.
I am now voting with my feet and mouth.

Loyalty, with very few exceptions, doesn't pay.
It's clear it won't pay for you this year (but did last year), so it's time to move.
I need to do the same with 3, but can't actually find anywhere I want to move to. Just on a rolling 30-day trimmed right down at the moment until a new phone or network has some cracking deals.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

I am, not a problem with that at all, after all they are a company and need to make money.
The complaint is the attitude and actions of the "supervisor". Where does he get off barrign my phone for his enjoyment!0 -
There are some real strange people out there. He's obviously fully aware he'd get away with it, so enjoys !!!!ing off customers who are leaving... stick to your guns and complain. It's outrageous behaviour.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

I was an orange contract customer many years ago and had to ring cs and got through to a very rude advisor, I terminated the call as didn't want to speak to him any further, he rang my mobile constantly so I diverted calls to voicemail
the advisor then removed the voicemail/diversion at his end so he could ring again!
Orange cs has been (imho) have been bad for quite a few years0 -
To get through to them press many options!!!
They have a NO attitude to everything. Some things never change...
Been with all the major mobile phone networks apart from T-mobile. Have found O2 to be the best so far. When taking out my Orange contract they had the best deal, main points were free unlimited landline minutes and magic number.0
