Spaceslide Wardrobe Nightmare

(Sorry bit of a long one)
So, I ordered a fitted wardrobe online from spaceslide.co.uk (made to measure) and I didn't get what I thought I ordered. Unfortunately hubby signed for it on delivery.
Seems like a simple mistake - should have paid more attention while I was placing the order - BUT their website is incredibly misleading.
I thought I had ordered a Galaxy Frameless System (as shown on pg 4 of their brochure in lovely full colour and gushing description) but managed to order the frame version instead.
Spaceslide argue that because I selected a frame colour I knew I was getting the frame version BUT I thought I was selecting the trim as in their brochure they mention:
The top track doubles as a pelmet and comes in satin silver anodised aluminium, white or coupled with a range of MDF trims to match the chosen MFC woodgrain effect or colour.
The thing is, I don't think it is physically possible to actually order the frameless version - you are forced to select a frame to continue!!!
Well, they said straight away they are going to the ask the Office of Fair Trading what they should do but in the meantime I am stuck with massive pieces of wood and glass in our front room for who knows how long.
Who do I go to (OFT don't seem to deal with individual cases) and do I have any sort of leg to stand on?
Sorry for the long post, all and any advice greatly appreciated

I can see their point about choosing the frame colour - if it was confusing, maybe you should have called them and gone through it.
Wait and see what they come back with, but if it is your mistake rather than theirs then I really don't see why they should be out of pocket. Maybe you could offer to pay half the shipping of the frameless wardrobe if they come and pick the one you have up?
That way you have gone 50:50 on it...if I were them I would be asking you to pay 100% of the return shipping as well as the shipping for the new stuff to get to you. Find out what that would cost - if it's not too much then you could be fretting over nothing.

Its a shame you didn't refuse delivery as their site says no refund will be offered 'once delivery is accepted.
As they are made to measure you aren't covered by distance selling either.
Maybe you could get them on the fact that under distance selling they have to provide you with clear info if the website didn't provide clear information.
Provide consumers with clear information
Businesses that sell to consumers by mail order, phone, fax, internet or digital TV must give clear and comprehensible 'prior information' to help them decide whether to buy.
Distance-selling regulations require you to set out:- your business name and address (when advance payment is required)
- a description of the goods or services
- prices, including all taxes
- delivery costs
- payment arrangements
- arrangements and date for delivery of goods or performance of services - within 30 days of the order if you don't specify a date
- the consumer's right to cancel the order and details of who bears the cost of returning the goods if they do
- how long prices remain valid
- the minimum duration of contracts
My posts are my own personal opinion . I would always recommend seeking professional advice.0 -
The shipping isn't a problem as their factory is actually quite local so I'm sure I could borrow someone with a big car to return it.
I think the main problem was that it wasn't clear on their website, I'll try and go down that route Taylor. How can they advertise something that they don't even sell!!!0
