Is this true?!
I had a representative from Southern Electric knock my door yesterday. Obviously he was trying to get me to move from my current provider Eon but I wanted to know if what he told me was true?
Basically, he said that southern electric own the pipes that supply my gas and electric so if I use any other supplier, I will be paying an addition fee of something like £80 per year - is that right?
I told him to jog on anyway as I dont deal with people on the doorstep and wanted to check what he was telling me!
Thanks

Looks like SE are determined to get on Watchdog again this year. Observe the odious character from 5.00 in. He's the sort of d*ckhead that if I started punching in the face I would never feel compelled to stop.

Haha - toally agree! That'll be me steering clear of them in the future!0 -
rofl that s a good they DO NOT OWN THE PIPES or the cables for that matter - if you tell me what part of the country you are in I can tell who owns the pipes and point you in the direction of who is responsible for looking after the electricity side as I work for National Grid who used to own all the pipes, but in his stupidity there may be a rice grain of truth as if you have a property that has an igt then you may have to pay a charge levied by some but not all companies but I very much doubt this sales guy would know if you are or not.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

I had a rep from SE at my door telling me same, referring to Fiddlers Ferry. He also started by saying he wasn't trying to sell me anything!:rolleyes:0
