I actually had a default (later changed to late payment marker) on my file when I was accepted for Capital One. This is bad obviously, but I have loads of good history on my account so that obviously helped their decision.

I will report back on Monday what happens once my statement is generated

    Ok... :D

BTW - What are both your files like please?

lol well I have a load of defaults although all marked as paid. ( finsihed IVA last year)

Also have loads of good marks though mortgage, aquacard, vanquis , few catalogues and 2 current accounts. The catalogues and cards paid off each month.

I was surprised I got the barclaycard with £1000 and a few days later my bank also gave me one for £1000. Will be closing the vanquis and aquacard now.

I would add though my hubby who earns a lot, has less satisfied defaults than me and was turned down for capitalone lol

Opened account March 2008. Limit £100. No sign of increase since then. was bankrupt June 2002 but for last few years have been rebuilding credit and now have cards from others so not too bothered about Capital One's reluctance.
Never missed or been late with payments - so thought I would ask why no increase:
I opened my account 17 months ago and my credit limit was £100. It is still £100 limit. Should this not have been increased by now?

Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, we're unable to review your credit limit at the moment. However, we regularly review all our accounts internally and when your account is eligible for an increase, we'll write and let you know. I'm sorry for the disappointment this causes.
