Mobiles.co.uk Put Me on The Wrong Contract!-What are My Rights?

Hi All,

I have recently signed up for an iPhone 3gs from Mobiles.co.uk on the £35 a month deal for 24 months. Today I have just checked my account with O2 and they have put me on the £45 deal, O2 say I have to sort this with Mobiles.co.uk (who are impossible to get hold of!). The order was messed up from the start with no communication from the company and then them sending the wrong colour handset via the wrong shipping company - plus the quidco hasn't tracked!!.

What are my rights on this?, I have the receipts and original order details but dont want to get caught up in a slagging match between both companies?....

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

    Hi ReVeD,
    Welcome to the forum.
As you will have probably seen from other threads getting mobiles.co.uk to solve problems is almost impossible.
IMO reading your circumstances as it is not the contract you signed up for I would fax a copy to O2 on 01709 316733 and tell them you want to cancel the contract.
Send the phone back with a letter confirming wrong handset wrong contract etc etc
Send it recorded del and fax a copy of it also to O2.
Then get a phone and new contract from another supplier ;)
It's not just about the money
  • Thanks Silk :o

After numerous phone calls and being left on hold for an hour and twenty minutes to Mobiles.co.uk, O2 have very kindly changed my tariff down to £35 a month.

Mobiles.co.uk wanted me to send the phone back, cancel the contract, lose my existing ported number and then re-order a new contract/phone.

And the moral of the story – Don't use Mobiles.co.uk!
