    As for the bird pecking, we pay Greenthumb lawn aeration treatment for what you get for free!!

    Let the birds get on with it - At this time of year they are eating pest grubs that damage grass roots. Look on it as natural pest control after all they can't be doing more harm than ripping out thatch (again beneficial) and making the occasional hole in the soil.
