i did include the paypal fees. You forgot about Paypal fees which will be at least 23p. So thats less than 40 p profit. Did your P&P costs include packaging materials what about electricity for PC etcIf you drive to the PO theres the petrol. Yor time. You probably when all comes down to it made a loss
there was no p&p as i send an email to the buyer with the voucher attached.
not really bothered about electricity as i am on the computer anyway!!
i pay 5p in ebay fees as i list as a buy it now.
quick question - i start all my auctions at 99p to avoid listing fees - even when i know the item will sell for £100.
am i paying too much in final value fees or is it the same fvf whatever price you start the listing at?0 -
You just contradicted your self first you say you sell at buy it now so pay 5p then you say you sell at 99p to avoid listing fees!
No i think FVF is the same no matter what the start price, its 10%0 -
sorry - i am causing confusion!sunnysea83 wrote: »

i did a buy it now for my email vouchers. so that i can sell them straight away and relist.
i sell all my old junk on 99p listing to avoid the listing fee! i was just thinking i might be paying too much in fvf by doing free listings but it appears i am not - will continue selling the junk at 99p starting price0 -
pebblespop, I don't know what you mean by "email vouchers" exactly, but you may want to check out their eligibility with ebay.

Basically says that you can't sell items that are delivered electronically.0 -
Premeir Accounts Normally as soon as someone trys to pay you via CC through paypal you are asked to upgrade. (it doesnt cost anything)
It depends if all your sales are under £10 you could just convert your normal account. But anything you did sell over £10 will end up costing you more in fees. As far as I know (i could be wrong) you need seperate bank accounts for each paypal account. I just googled and couldnt find anything to tel me otherwise. Although I would advise people though never to have a there everyday current account linked to Paypal. Just in case of problems (better safe). For my personal paypal account I opened a bank account specifically for Paypal. It may sound a bit like overkill but i;m a little paranoid at times:eek:(just ask my wife)
Hope that helps
Sorry to hijack the thread - I have just opened a new PP acount and emailed to ask for it to be changed to micro as most of my sales are under a tenner. You said if you have an item that goes over the tenner you send the inv. from the macro account - is this quite straightforward? As you put your PP address on the listing in the first place, is it easy to change it when sending the invoice? No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!
Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target

I do list things at 99p for the free listing - unless it's worth a considerable amount - but not because I usually expect them to go for that price. If I was unemployed or had more spare time it would be perfectly viable for me to be selling off my 'tat' at 99p, as another poster says, you can make enough when it all adds up.0

Same with my selling, I list everything at 99p, with enough to cover the postage and packing, usually about £2 per item P+P as I mainly sell clothes, and try to recycle packing where I can.
I tend to only spend on ebay what I have earned, so try hard with my descriptions to attract more bidders.0
