Orange Contract - 5 months left on an 18 month contract

My girlfriend has 5 months left on an 18 month contract with Orange. Her phone is rubbish, and she's keen to upgrade to a better tariff and mobile. Is it possible for her to upgrade yet?

I don't think it will be possible. She could get a cheap PAYG phone and wait.

You should be able to move to a higher tariff without a problem.

you can change tariff higher or lower, but can not get a new phone till your 15th month. Unless you buy your own (PAYG or simfree)

I didn't say anything about a new phone I only said you can move up to a higher tariff without any problem. You can only move down one band per month.

If you'd been around here about a week ago you could have got her out of her contract without penalty due to out of contract minimum call charge increases.

With all the job losses going on I've made it a rule from now on - no more mobile phone contracts. When the poop hits the fan, the mobile is the first pain in the backside that everyone wants to cut back.
