    Afternoon all,

Starting to bucket rain here just now, going food shopping in a bit so not impressed
Happy birthday to Emmwri and Ladygrim
Good luck to all getting exam results

DD4 was offered the job near DGS's school yesterday...would mean an extra hour in bed in the morning and that she can leave him to school every day and collect him at least one day a week, so she has been all in a tizzy overnight...she had accepted the first job and felt bad about pulling out. This morning she made the two phone calls and is now much happier....less hassle for her in her first full time job...the other school was very understanding, apparently this kind of thing happens all the time.

Not sure what's for dinner to-day, DD2 and girls are back so will have to be more careful, DD2 is the fussiest of my family as far as food is concerned....has driven me nuts for 36 years, hardly going to change now!

To-day is OH's fourth day off cigarettes, seems to be doing ok, no tantrums so far anyway.

Enjoy your holidays everyone who is off this weekend, going to book a week in Sardinia later on, won't tell OH until its done.

Hugs to all who are in need or want

    Afternoon all.

    Happy Birthday Ladygrim and Emmwri.

Thank goodness I got the washing bin emptied yesterday - it's raining today.

After Mr LW finished w*rk yesterday afternoon, we went out and picked 5lb of elderberries, which are now partway to becoming wine; the trees around here are absolutely loaded, and we could have picked loads more, but I pointed out that we also had to remove them from the stems (time-consuming) and the cauldron will only hold so much.

The new bed is lovely - been thoroughly tested now;) and although it was an expense, I think it was good use of the money.

Dins tonight is Shepherd Spy; don't know what time Mr LW will be in, he phoned earlier and apparently there's a load of stuff he has to do which can't be started til 18:00. Bit of a bummer, as we're supposed to be going to a Mensa meeting tonight, but we'll see how it goes.

((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.

    Hi,
Im really chuffed because my son did really well in his A levels and Im a very proud and happy mum. There were a lot of rows over the past two years and he absolutely hated every minute of his Alevels so im especially pleased as he stuck it out and didn't drop the course. My daughter got 2 AS levels but has a plan of action for next year and is changing courses to do the course she wants - Environmental Studies. Im also really pleased for her too.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi everyone

Been a carp day here today, rained and windy, though the sun is trying to get out again now.

Oh memories, of the heartaches of GCSE's and AS + A Levels  Congrats to those with the results they wanted, and commiserations to those who haven't, take heart my DS didn't put as much work as he should to his A's, and got a grade below what he wanted for his chosen uni's, but via clearing and a Mum who has steam coming off the keyboard interrogating the UCAS web site, came up with two uni's who offered a course, which came up nearly as good on the Sunday Times report, Saturday morning up, and off, and in the first uni (nearst to home) virtually before they had set up, impressed by keeness, offered him a place and the rest is history.

Taken awning to goddaughter, they have just bought a cheap caravan off ebay and needed it for large family+step kids, saw their two little ones for a cuddle. Then on to Aldi, and back to the paperwork.

Pen-Pin - hope you are coping the swine flu, and everyone else suffering :grouphug:

Spoke to my friends husband last night, he is coping but totally devastated by her loss, and to try to understand the reasons for it, PM this weekend will help I hope, 35 years married a long time.

 :hello: MIA, Lurkers, Newbies -welcome.
    Take care - DG

    Ooops! nearly forgot

    :hello:

Hi, first day of redundancy and what I hope to become a real oldstyler!

Have been into town and contacted some agencies but it's not looking good. Have done one wash and just bought it into iron just as the first few drops have appeared. Extremely windy here and can't get the 'greenhouse' to stand up for more than a few seconds so have left it lying down.

Going out later so OH will get something for dinner for when I get back  I'l make a lasagne for tomorrow's din unless we're going to my parents.

Start my flylady on Monday (it's been up on the kitchen cupboards for 18months :o )

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes. No OS-ing today as I've been as lazy as I can be with 2 toddlers! Playgroups all morning, packed lunch at the children's centre then pirates playscheme this afternoon. Just giving the boys another packed lunch I prepared earlier (lazy!). They'll be going off to bed at half 6 then I'm going to have a quick tidy and wait for my Mum to come round with my present. She's buying me a chinese takeaway too :D then back to the meal planner tomorrow! Going to try making the lentil dhal from the recipe on here.

Love the crafty bits Celyn. Gorgeous detail.

Hope everyone got the exam results they wanted/needed. For those that didn't, I hope you still get to do what you want.
