Would You Go Without IT....

Would you go abroad without insurance for a pre-existing medical condition?

Going to Canada and have had previous back operations. I would be covered for everything else apart from related to my back. What would you do?

Not sure I'd want to risk it. If worst comes to worst even flying home laid up can cost a huge pile of cash.

I've been all over Europe without it but I think I'm a bit scared with it being so far away!

It is the lengh of the flight home that would get me ..with a bad back its bad enough if you feel well with it going all that way in cattle class but if it went while you wer away and had to come home 8 hours sat in those seats wouldnt be pleasent were as 2-4 hours on a flight from the med isnt too bad (bad enough)
Have you been in hospital in the last 12 mths with it? I might know a company who can help but they wont touch you if you have stayed in hospital in the last 12mths

This company even covers HIV. we have a friend who is haemophiliac and he gets annual cover from this company and they are very good
They have set prices for WWide and europe the price doesnt alter its set as long as you are accepted by the medical screening you get the policy
I used it for my mom whos not in the best of health at all with her heart and other stuff and she got accepted £84 annual cover europe shes 70
Its not the cheapest I think out frinds pay 135 or there about for WWide annual for a couple

Thanks saveapenny, we are in premium for the flight due to this fact as I can just about manage a 2-4 hour flight in cattle class. I haven't been in hospital with it, no, as there's nothing else they can do but I am waiting for an MRI to confirm arthritis.

Finger's crossed I could cope with it if it went as long as I've got my painkillers and that's why I wonder whether I really need it! Or maybe I'm just a skinflint!

I would appreciate the company's name though please?

£149.99 with So Easy compared to £58.99 without cover with travelinsuranceweb.

I sooooooooooooo begrudge paying that much extra when I know that if it WENT, there is nothing they can do anyway!

I think my main concern is if I broke my leg or something and they said "oh no, that's related to your back so we're not paying up!" These insurance companies always have get out clauses ...

    Cheekymole,

Have you tried www.Medicare.co.uk - we have used them 2 years running. My daughter has epilepsy which isn't controlled and they covered it for not much more than a regular quote.

You can also get an online quote from them online as long as your pre existing medical condition is on their list.

    Fingers crossed :D
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

Yeah I know what you're saying saveapenny but like I said, there's nothing they can do if it does go, I just have to get on with it which is what I do here.

    Dilemmas, I hate them!
