T-Mobille final bill - hefty charges - help

I recently received my final bill from T-mobile after I ported my number for my SIM only contract with them to another network. I ported my number within 20 days of receiving the PAC, so t-mobile have very cleverly refunded me the line rental for 10 days, but have also calculated the number of inclusive minutes on a pro rata basis, which gave them an opportunity to charge at standard network rates for any 'out of allowance' usage. I have ported out my number several times across networks but no where I have seen this unfair practise - most networks just allow customers to use full number of inclusive minutes even if they port out early.

The final bill shows a balance due of £55.

Now I cancelled the direct debit after midnight on the day when the payment was to be collected from my account. (the payments was to go out on 10th and I cancelled the DD on 10th evening at midnight - after the day was over). I phoned T-mobile CS on 10th evening at 7 pm and they said that they have processed the DD/payment at their end.

Now, the situation is that the money has not gone out of my account and I have not heard from T-mobile either. (9 days have passed since I cancelled the DD).

Will this have any adverse effect on my credit history? I am thinking of calling them up and am planning to make the payment over the phone.

What if I just want to part-pay? I can pay the amount which would have been due on my account - £22 and leave the rest until I file a dispute after 8 weeks as per t-mobile's code of practise. Will this have any adverse effect on my credit history?

I am a bit worried as I plan to go for a mortgage as a FTB in the coming months and do not want any problems because of any adverse credit history.

I need some help & advice here.

Never mind credit history, the debit collectors will be coming.

What if I part-pay at this point - like £25 and leave the rest.

    A. you would have to make them accept a part payment.
    B. The rest of any money owed will still go to the debit collectors.

You can ask what the £55 is for but I doubt its a mistake - as its normal to pay termination charge if you end a contract early.
