Vodafone, unsure how to approach contract renewal/upgrade

I've posted a very similar thing in the Retentions Deals thread but realise that it's a bit out of place there to get a reply.

Basically I'm currently nearing the end of an 18m contract which is £34pm with 200 mins, 500 texts, 3 months 1/2 price and 10% off line rental. None of the phones on offer at the moment really appeal to me so I'm not sure whether to go for a sim-only renewal on a 30 day notice and then wait for something that I like to come out on Vodafone. If I were to do this am I likely to get a good deal when I want to get a proper new contract with a phone?
If not then I'll try to get the Magic deal which seems to be going around or maybe just leave VF.

Thanks.

If you are happy with vodafone & happy with coverage customer service etc there is probably no point leaving. My advice would be to go Sim only until there is something you like the look off. No point taking out a contract just for the sake of it.

If you do decide to change then ask people you know on other networks what their coverage & customer service is like.
